Dutch dredging and heavylift company Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. (Boskalis) has received the Provisional Letter of Acceptance for the Design and Construction contract for the Pasay Reclamation Development Project in Manila Bay, Philippines in cooperation with CHEC from China.The award was made by the publicly listed company SM Prime Holdings Inc. (SMPHI), one of the largest property developers in Southeast Asia. The development will create a new commercial and residential area in a densely populated part of Manila.

Dredging services provider Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. and biofuels supplier GoodFuels are set to take the next key step in the ‘Boskalis on Bio’ program for the testing of sustainable bio-fuel oil.Following earlier successful tests with ‘drop-in’ blends of light biofuel and marine gas oil, Boskalis’ Willem van Oranje will be the first dredging vessel in the world to operate on 100% bio-fuel oil.The sulfur-free sustainable residual fuel consists wholly of used cooking oil and contains no fossil fuels.

Boskalis Sells Stake in SAAM SMIT Towage
Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. (Boskalis) has signed an agreement with SAAM S.A. (SAAM) relating to the sale and purchase of the equity stake held by Boskalis in SAAM SMIT Towage. Under the terms of the agreement, the total (100%) enterprise value of SAAM SMIT Towage is valued at $560 million. Boskalis expects to receive $201 million in cash for its equity stake in the joint venture.The towage joint venture between Boskalis and SAAM was formed in 2014 which at the time covered the respective towage activities in Brazil, Panama, Mexico and Canada.

Boskalis Nominates van Noort as New CFO
Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. has nominated Carlo van Noort to be appointed as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Boskalis at the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (AGM) in May 2019. The term of the current CFO, Hans Kamps, expires on the date of that same AGM.van Noort is currently financial director of Boskalis Nederland. Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. (Boskalis) has acquired a sizable logistical management transport contract and has received a letter of award for the transport and float-over installation of an offshore platform with a combined contract value of approximately USD 65 million. The global services provider operating in the dredging, maritime infrastructure and maritime services sectors said that the logistical management contract scope is for the transportation of a large number of modules from a fabrication yard in Asia to a plant being developed in North America.
Boskalis wins €897m Tuas Terminal Project
Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. (Boskalis) has received a Letter of Award from the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) for the port development project Tuas Terminal Phase II in Singapore, also referred to as Tuas Terminal Finger Pier 3. The contract value for the consortium, including Penta Ocean Construction Company and Hyundai Engineering & Construction Company, is approximately SGD 1.46 billion. Boskalis' share in the consortium is 30% with a corresponding contract value of approximately EUR 300 million.
Dockwise Bags Marine Transport Contracts Worth $50 Mln
Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. said its wholly-owned subsidiary Dockwise has recently been awarded a number of marine transport contracts with a combined contract value of approximately $50 million. Dockwise was awarded a contract by Husky Oil Operations Ltd. for the transportation of the West White Rose Topside from Texas, U.S. to Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. The contract includes the engineering, preparation and execution of the loading, transport and discharge operation of the topside.
Boskalis Bags Stockholm Norvik Port Contract
Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. said it has been awarded a contract by Ports of Stockholm to construct the quay wall for the new Stockholm Norvik Port in Sweden. The contract value amounts to approximately €60 million ($69 million). The project will commence in the autumn of 2017 and is expected to complete in the spring of 2020. Stockholm Norvik Port, the new freight port for rolling goods and containers, will be constructed in Norvikudden located 60 km south of Stockholm. The port will have seven berths for container ships and RoRo ferries.
Channel Dredging to Commence in Mumbai
Dredging works for the deepening and widening of the access channel toward Jawaharlal Nehru Port in Mumbai, India is scheduled to commence in the coming weeks and last for approximately two years. The dredging will enable the country’ largest container handling port, Jawaharlal Nehru Port, to accommodate larger container vessels. Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust awarded the €250 million (approximately $265 million) dredging contract to Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. in joint venture with Jan De Nul.
Boskalis to Build Islands in Indonesia
Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. (Boskalis) has been awarded a contract by KSO Ciputra Yasmin to construct the land for the Centre Point of Indonesia Project located off the coast of Makassar. The contract value is approximately EUR 80 million. Work is scheduled to commence in the coming months and will last two years. Boskalis will deploy a mega trailing suction hopper dredger for the reclamation activities. The project involves the construction of five artificial islands off the coast of Makassar.
Boskalis to Transport Johan Sverdrup Platform Modules

Boskalis Completes Acquisition of STRABAG Wasserbau
Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. (Boskalis) has concluded the acquisition of the dredging activities and assets of STRABAG Wasserbau GmbH. The transaction price of EUR 70 million has been financed from Boskalis' own cash. With the transaction Boskalis acquires the equipment, personnel and relevant contracts of STRABAG Wasserbau. The most important assets are two young trailing suction hopper dredgers with a capacity of 7,350 m3 each, a large modern backhoe dredger and four self-propelled barges.
KOTUG, Boskalis Begin Harbor Towage Joint Venture
KOTUG International B.V. and Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. have formalized a joint venture for the companies’ European harbor towage operations. The joint operations are transferred to a 50/50 joint venture, combining the European harbor towage activities of KOTUG and Boskalis’ subsidiary SMIT. The merged operations will operate under the entity KOTUG SMIT Towage, with operational integration beginning April 7, 2016. With a fleet of 65 tugboats, KOTUG SMIT Towage will provide harbor towage services in northwestern Europe, operating in 11 ports in Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands and U.K.
Ampelmann Names New Supervisory Board Members
Ampelmann, a provider of motion compensation access solutions, announced the appointment of three new members to its supervisory board. Ampelmann said the three senior industry executives, Frank Verhoeven, John Evans and Mark B. Duncan, will bring international, commercial and operational experience and will play a role in supporting its growth ambitions. Frank Verhoeven is member of the Board of Management of Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. since 2012 and of Smit since 2010. He joined Boskalis in 1976 and holds various offshore industry-related supervisory board positions.
Boskalis Takes New Mega Cutter Helios into Service
Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. said its new mega cutter Helios was named and christened during a festive ceremony in the port of Rotterdam, the Netherlands. The self-propelled Helios is 152 meters long and has a breadth of 28 meters and is able to dredge at depths of 6 to 35 meters. The vessel was developed to dredge in extremely hard ground. The cutter ladder weighs 2,060 tons, making it the heaviest in the world. The vessel can accommodate a crew of 45 and so the Helios can operate around the world in the most remote locations.
Boskalis Inks EUR 300 mi Fehmarnbelt Project Deal
Today, Femern A/S, a subsidiary of the Danish state-owned Sund & Bælt Holding A/S, and the Fehmarn Belt Contractors joint venture, consisting of Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. (Boskalis) and Van Oord, signed the previously announced contract related to the construction of the Fehmarnbelt Fixed Link. Boskalis' share of the contract is approximately EUR 300 million. The contract is conditional to obtaining the outstanding environmental permits that have yet to be issued by the German authorities.

Boskalis Awarded Aberdeen Offshore Wind Farm Contract
Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. (Boskalis) has been awarded the Offshore Balance of Plant contract by Vattenfall for the construction of Aberdeen Offshore Wind Farm, also known as the European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre. Following the announcement on 29 June stating that Boskalis was the preferred contractor, the contract has now been formally awarded. The project will consist of eleven wind turbines with a capacity of 92.4 MW. The contract includes all offshore elements of the wind farm, with the exception of the wind turbine supply.
Boskalis to cut 650 jobs, 24 vessels
Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. (Boskalis) announces that its Works Council has unanimously rendered a positive advice on the fleet rationalization plan announced early July. Part of the positive advice in an agreement to continue to crew two of the five Fairmount vessels for the time being with Dutch employees. As a consequence, 24 vessels will be taken out of service in the coming two years resulting in the loss of approximately 650 jobs worldwide. Furthermore, Boskalis has reached an agreement in principle with the Works Council on a social plan.

Boskalis wins SponsorRing Award
Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. (Boskalis) was last night named winner of the SponsorRing 2016 award in the 'Society' category for its sponsorship of The Ocean Cleanup's North Sea prototype test. A floating barrier designed to capture plastic from the sea is being tested approximately 23 km off the Dutch coast. The purpose of the test is to see how well the floating barrier design is able to cope with extreme weather conditions at sea.
