Naylor Named Resolve Maritime Academy Director

Resolve Maritime Academy, the learning arm of the Resolve Marine Group, has welcomed Chauncey Naylor as the Academy’s new Director responsible for operational management, strategic course, and certification development. Naylor comes to Resolve from Williams Fire and Hazard Control in Port Arthur, Texas with extensive experience leading safety management and emergency service teams.For the past 23 years, Naylor has been a driving force behind Williams’ response teams earning himself the prestigious Red Adair Industrial Community Award.

Nordeen Named Seafarers’ House Business Leader of the Year

Seafarers’ House has announced that Peggy Nordeen, CEO of Starmark International, Inc. has been selected as Seafarers’ House 2018 South Florida Business Leader of the Year.Nordeen will be honored at the 23rd Annual South Florida Business Leaders’ Luncheon hosted by Holland America Line to benefit Seafarers’ House. The luncheon will take place Wednesday, Nov. 14 aboard the ms Zuiderdam docked at Port Everglades.Honorees for the South Florida Business Leaders Award are selected by their peers.

Japanese, US Coast Guard Train at Resolve Maritime Academy

Last Friday, Resolve Maritime Academy hosted over 30 Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) sailors and members of the U.S. Coast Guard, at their training facility in Port Everglades for an international fire safety and damage control training. This was the first time Japanese sailors and warships have been in Port Everglades since the US and Japanese formed their alliance over 60 years ago. Resolve Marine Purchases Harbor Place Building

Regional commercial real estate firm Berger Commercial Realty announced the $8.9 million purchase of Harbor Place, a 36,000-square-foot office building located at 1600 S.E. 17th St. in Fort Lauderdale, by Resolve Marine Group, a Fort Lauderdale-based company that provides a variety of marine services to the global maritime industry. Resolve Maritime Academy, a division of Resolve Marine Group, has been a tenant in the building since 2012. Sold by 1600 17th St. Causeway, LLC, Harbor Place was 100 percent occupied at the time of sale, which closed May 14.

Resolve Hosts 'Damage Control Olympics'

The Resolve Maritime Academy hosted a day of maritime safety training exercises and competitive activities as part of the 13th Damage Control Olympics. Resolve Expands European Presence

Resolve Salvage & Fire (Europe), Ltd., the European emergency response subsidiary of U.S.- based Resolve Marine Group, Inc., has added a new office at 23, Austin Friars, London, expanding the company’s U.K. operations base. The 34-year-old marine salvage, emergency response and wreck removal company has been steadily expanding, both geographically and in its service offerings for the international maritime industry. Joining the new London office is Daniel Dettor, a Commercial Manager formerly based at Resolve’s corporate headquarters in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

New Ship Simulator Training Modules by Transas

Transas reflects upon 2012 as being a successful year of high-fidelity cruise ship modelling for various clients. The year began with the development of several in-service vessels for the Resolve Maritime Academy, in support of their training programs for Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd (RCCL). This included the Celebrity Solstice, Freedom of the Seas, Vision of the Seas and TUI Mein Schiff 1. Each was painstakingly developed and validated to ensure the highest level of realism when compared against the equivalent operational vessel.

Resolve Maritime Academy Joins ECDIS Training Network

Resolve Maritime Academy has joined the Transas Global ECDIS Training Network, known as Get-Net. The Academy recently expanded its Fort Lauderdale, Florida training facilities, adding a second ECDIS classroom with Transas simulation software and Transas ECDIS to meet the high demand for Generic and Type-Specific ECDIS training. The training partnership with Transas allows Resolve Maritime Academy to comply with all Flag State, Port State Control and Classification Society requirements and to better serve its global client base, in time for the new ECDIS training requirement deadlines.

Resolve Maritime Academy Opens Simulation Training Center

State-of-the-art, simulation-based safety and navigation training center raises the bar for cruise line and commercial shipping professionals. Resolve Maritime Academy (Academy) opened its new Simulation Training Center on Monday, March 12 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Fort Lauderdale, FL, USA facility adjacent to Port Everglades. The state-of-the-art, 7000-square-foot facility will provide leading edge simulation-based training programs to enhance safe navigation at sea for cruise line and commercial shipping personnel and other maritime professionals worldwide.

Resolve Acquires EBDG's New Orleans Office

RESOLVE Marine Group, Inc. (RESOLVE) has acquired the staff and assets of the Elliott Bay Design Group’s (EBDG) New Orleans, Louisiana office. The addition of former EBDG personnel in New Orleans expands  RESOLVE’s in-house engineering team, creating a new company and wholly owned subsidiary  RESOLVE Engineering Group, LLC. The Group will support RESOLVE’s  extensive worldwide operations while continuing to serve both former and  new clients as a full-service naval architecture and marine engineering group.
