The Port of Rotterdam Authority has launched a new container tracking application Boxinsider allowing shippers and freight forwarders to locate their containers at any given moment.Boxinsider draws on status information from container vessels and inland and deep-sea terminals, tracking containers and determining arrival and departure times for vessels, as well as container unloading and departures at container terminals. The Port of Rotterdam on Wednesday said it expects sales of liquefied natural gas (LNG) as a bunker fuel to increase in the coming years as ships are forced to switch to cleaner sources of energy.Europe's largest sea port expects throughput of LNG as a bunker fuel to increase to around 30,000 tonnes this year, up from 9,500 tonnes in 2018, director Maud Eijgendaal told reporters."If we keep up this growth we can reach a million tonnes by 2025-2030, which would be around 10% of all bunker fuels sold in Rotterdam"…

The largest port in Europe, the Port of Rotterdam has introduced new app for bunkering notifications with which paperless bunkering and informing the Harbour Master and Customs possible in one go.TimeToBunker App is bunker barge operator tool for electronic bunkering notification. Rotterdam Port to Welcome Black Marlin

The heavy-lift vessel Black Marlin will arrive in the Port of Rotterdam on Monday 12 August.This semi-submersible vessel departed on Monday, 17th June Shanghai, on deck with eighteen Concordia Damen inland shipping vessel hulls and a Damen Crane Barge 6324.The 18 hulls were constructed in China for delivery to Concordia Damen in Werkendam.The Black Marlin will berth on the Rotterdam/Maasvlakte inland lake, after which Boskalis will submerge the Black Marlin at dolphins 90-91 on Wednesday 14 August.The pontoons carrying the 18 hulls will then be towed to Waalhaven.

Chinese Port Doubles Direct Connection with Europe

The first parts of a steel arch bridge arrived at the Rozenburg lock on pontoons for Theemswegtracé yesterday (Monday, July 22).The other parts of this bridge will arrive later in this month, a press note from Port of Rotterdam said.
