Teekay Offshore Settles Dispute with Petrobras

Bermuda-based marine services company Teekay Offshore Partners announced that certain of its subsidiaries have entered into a settlement agreement with Petrobras with respect to various disputes relating to the previously-terminated charter contracts of the HiLoad DP unit and Arendal Spirit unit for maintenance and safety (UMS). As part of the settlement agreement, Petrobras - on behalf od its subsidiaries Petróleo Brasileiro and Petroleo Netherlands - has agreed to pay a total amount of $96 million to Teekay Offshore…

Capital Product Partners Adds Two Vessels, Sells One

Greece-based international diversified shipping partnership Capital Product Partners announced the completed acquisition of the M/T ‘Aristaios’, as well as the sale of the M/T ‘Aristotelis’ and the acquisition of the M/T ‘Anikitos’. On January 17, 2018, the Partnership acquired the eco-type crude tanker ‘Aristaios’ (113,689 dwt, Ice Class 1C, built 2017, Daehan Shipbuilding Co. Ltd., South Korea) for a total consideration of $52.5 million from the Partnership’s sponsor, Capital Maritime & Trading.

SolstadFarstad Bags Contract for Normand Commander

Solstad Farstad ASA (SOFF) has entered a Bareboat contract with Bahia Grande LN S.A for the CSV "Normand Commander” for operation in Argentina. The contract period is 5 years firm with further 1x3 years option, commencement of the contract is February 2018. The commercial terms are confidential between the parties. Last month, Petróleo Brasileiro S.A extended the present contract for RSV “Far Swift” with approximately 1 year, in direct continuation of present contract. Contract is now firm until 4q -2018.
