PISR touts its Detention 'Clean Sheet'

Palau International Ship Registry (PISR) reports it has recorded a zero percentage detention record with the United States Coast Guard (USCG) in the latest figures issued for 2016-2018 Port State Control examinations.The USCG targets flags for additional Port State Control examinations if their detention ratio scores are higher than the three-year rolling average detention record. Palau Marks its Presence in Dubai

Palau Registry Sails into Top Spot

Palau International Ship Registry (PISR) has become the fastest growing flag in the shipping world with an impressive 43.2% growth in the number of vessels joining the registry since 2013 according to Fairplay magazine. Recording strong growth that puts it well ahead of other expanding registries such as Portugal, Saudi Arabia and the Cook Islands, Palau has attracted significant numbers of tankers into its fleet along with Ro-Ro vessels, bulk carriers and offshore ships. Palau Announces Fleet Increase

The Palau International Ship Registry has recently seen a strong increase in its fleet size as more shipowners and operators look to become a part of the new breed of smart registries. As the Palau flag starts appearing on more vessels the appeal of a registry based on technology and detailed attention to service becomes more important to world shipping. Palau, Italy Join Forces for Maritime Seminar

Palau International Ship Registry (PISR) Flag Inspectors benefited from a seminar hosted between February 20 to 24 at Italian Coast Guard General Headquarters in Rome covering Port State Control, Safety of Navigation, Maritime Security, Prevention of Pollution (MARPOL) and Minimum training standards for seafarers (STCW Convention). The event was organized after a request by Palau International Ship Registry and was hosted by Rear Admiral Cristiano Aliperta, former Italian representative to the IMO and Head of 6th Department Safety of Navigation of the General Command.

Palau Ship Registry Opens Piraeus HQ

The Palau International Ship Registry (PISR) has opened a new head office in Piraeus, Greece. Panos Kirnidis, CEO of PISR, said, “We have spent time finding and employing people around the shipping world who add value to our services and come with a sense of dedication we demand. IRS Scores High with US Coast Guard

The U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) has placed the International Register of Shipping (IRS) in the top bracket of those recognized organizations (RO) that consistently achieve zero detentions for its registered vessels for the third time in just six years. IRS notes its strong performance reported by the USCG in its Annual Report 2014 follows the completion of performance audits by the Tokyo Memorandum of Understanding and the Panama government. IRS passed the Panama audit without any major non-conformances or the need for a follow-up audit…
