Abu Dhabi Ports and Gulf Marine Services Announce New Partnership

Abu Dhabi Ports – the master developer, operator and manager of ports and Khalifa Industrial Zone in the Emirate ― has signed a contract with Gulf Marine Services (GMS) that will see the creation of a state-of-the-art facility at Zayed Port where GMS will construct and maintain its offshore support vessels that serve the region’s oil and gas industry. Zayed Port in Abu Dhabi city―a regional hub for the cruise industry, and general and bulk cargo―will lease the new facility to GMS for three years.

GAC Branching Out in the Netherlands

BMT Opens Testing Facility in Jakarta

BMT Asia Pacific (BMT), a subsidiary of BMT Group, the leading international maritime design, engineering and risk management consultancy, has opened its first ever environmental testing facility in Jakarta, Indonesia. Certified to ISO17025 by Komite Akreditasi Nasional (KAN), Indonesia’s national accreditation body, the new laboratory provides high-quality technical testing services for BMT’s Oil and Gas clients including: Noise, ambient air quality, water quality, toxicity and emissions.

EFC Group Appoints Managing Director

EFC Group, a designer and manufacturer of instrumentation, monitoring, handling and control systems for the global oil and gas industry, has appointed Anand Puthran as its managing director, a newly created role for the company. Anand joins Electro-Flow Controls with more than 15 years’ experience working in the oil and gas industry in managerial positions. Anand most recently spent time with ABB in Workington where he managed the product manufacturing unit and center of excellence for ABB’s measurement product offerings to oil and gas clients.

Intertek Invests in O&G Lab in Abu Dhabi

Intertek expanded its Exploration and Production services in the Middle East by investing in a new £1.4 million facility in Abu Dhabi. The laboratory will house cutting-edge equipment that will enable the organization to provide high-specification testing for oil and gas customers in the region. Located in Musaffah, the laboratory will provide reservoir characterization services including core analysis to support critical testing for oil and gas clients. The facility comprises three buildings which extend to approximately 1,300 sq.

Red7Marine Offshore Win Rich Slew of Contracts

UK-based Red7Marine Offshore Ltd announces the award of a number of new contracts for 2013. Cable protection work has recently been awarded on the Paimpol-Brehat Tidal Energy Converter project, Brittany, France. The scope of work includes the installation of more than 100 concrete mattresses to provide additional stabilisation of the export cable connecting tidal energy devices to the shore. The scope includes a number of supporting operations with site work due to commence summer 2013.

Chet Morrison Add New Hires

Chet Morrison Contractors hired industry veteran Metin Gezer as Vice President of Land Construction Services. Gezer is one of several recent leadership additions who will provide support and infrastructure to foster the growth of the company’s construction services for both onshore and marine environments. Gezer brings over 25 years of planning and operations experience in the oil and gas industry, both domestically and internationally, and has a background in midstream, refining, petro-chemicals, pipelines, industrial gases and specialty chemicals.

New Leadership at Fugro

Fugro GeoServices announced several recent promotions within the company, including two key management appointments: Ted Hampton, president and Adam Jackson, senior vice president. Mr. Hampton is a licensed geologist and former vice president of the company. He replaces longtime leader Mr. Tom Hamilton, who will retire this spring after nearly 30 years with Fugro. Together, Mr. Hamilton and Mr. Hampton led the formation of Fugro GeoServices in 1999 to provide oil and gas clients in the Gulf of Mexico with high quality marine geophysical surveys.
