NorSea Wind Appoints Pedersen CEO

NorSea Wind, part of the Wilhelmsen Ship Management (WSM) Group, has named Anders Peter Pedersen as its new chief executive officer (CEO). Pedersen  has extensive experience from the green energy sector. A lot has happened in the harbor since Anders Peter Pedersen as 17-year-old started his career on his first ship in Esbjerg, but now the circle is in many ways closed for the new CEO of NorSea Wind.He is practically back at the same harbor quay, where he boarded MS Stafford in the fall of 1982, but now it is as captain of NorSea Wind, and the view goes far from the bridge.

Cruise Season Kick-off in the Port of Kiel

The call by the cruise vessel “AIDAcara” on Sunday, April 7th, marks the beginning of Kiel’s cruise season 2019. Dr Dirk Claus, Managing Director at PORT OF KIEL (SEEHAFEN KIEL GmbH & Co. KG): “The upcoming cruise season will be very exciting and we will welcome a lot of new ships to Kiel. The second and new terminal building at the Ostseekai is presently under construction and we are working on the implementation of the onshore power project.” The port is currently investing about 30 million Euros in the cruise sector. Half of this amount is dedicated to sustainability measures.

Chinese VP Visits Hamburg Terminal

Maersk India Trade Report Q1 2019

India’s containerized exports with the world witnessed a stable growth of 6% in the first quarter of 2019 propelled by robust performances in refrigerated cargo, engineering and pharmaceuticals sectors, while imports declined slightly in the same quarter registering a market growth of -2.2% in Q1. MOL Signs LNG Charter with Pavilion Gas

Mitsui O.S.K. Meriaura Signs Five New TC Agreements

Finnish shipping company Meriaura has signed new time charter-in agreements covering five vessels.The five vessels that will join the company’s fleet include a deck cargo carrier, two multipurpose-heavy lift dry cargo vessels and two traditional dry bulk carriers said a press note from Meriaura, specializing in the transport of industrial raw materials and project cargo on the Baltic Sea and in Europe.M/S Enough Talk is a deck cargo carrier of the same type and size as Meriaura’s deck cargo carriers Aura and Meri.

First Mega-Boxship Retrofit to LNG Ordered

Hapag-Lloyd pilot gas-conversion leads the way for emissions reduction and decarbonizationMAN Energy Solutions has signed a contract for the conversion of a 15,000 TEU container vessel to dual-fuel operation. The container vessel MV SAJIR is owned by Hapag-Lloyd, a leading liner shipping companies, and normally serves a route from Asia to northern Europe via the Suez canal. The pilot project will entail the conversion of an existing, HFO-burning MAN B&W 9S90ME-C engine to a dual-fuel MAN B&W ME-GI (-Gas Injection) prime mover capable of running on HFO and LNG.

Stena Line Intros Belfast - Liverpool RoRo

Costa Rica Grants Green Light to Moín Terminal

APM Terminals’ Moín Container Terminal (MCT) in Costa Rica has been granted permission by the National Council of Concessions (CNC) to start commercial operations at its first deep-sea berth. Nieuw Statendam, the new cruise ship of Holland America Line, was presented at the Fincantieri Marghera shipyard in Venice. Norway Postpones Decision on Arctic Oil Terminal

The Norwegian government has postponed a decision on whether to mandate the construction of an oil processing terminal near the Arctic tip of northern Europe until the third quarter of next year, it said on Friday.If built, the onshore Veidnes terminal would receive crude via a pipeline from Equinor's offshore Johan Castberg oilfield, which is expected to start producing in late 2022.Equinor originally ditched plans for an onshore terminal in order to save costs, preferring instead to load oil on to crude tankers at the field before exporting it to global markets.Parliament earlier this year u
