Shawn Garry has joined Bouchard Transportation Co., Inc. as Vice President of Regulatory Compliance and Inspections, tasked with ensuring that the company achieves regulatory compliance and meets SubChapter M requirements. Garry will be the primary contact for Gulf Coast region internal and external vetting, SIRE, ABS, USCG and ISM. Coast Guard Foundation Raises $1.2 Mln

Last night the Coast Guard Foundation held its 36th Annual Salute to the U.S. Coast Guard in New York City. The event raised $1.2 million to support important Coast Guard Foundation programs such as scholarships, the Fallen Heroes program and relief to Coast Guard Members impacted by natural disasters. At the event, the Foundation presented the National Award for Heroism to the crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Bertholf and recognized Morton S. Bouchard III, President and CEO of Bouchard Transportation.

Coast Guard Foundation to Host 2016 Salute to the USCG

The Coast Guard Foundation has announced that it will host the annual 2016 Salute to the United States Coast Guard at the Marriott Marquis in New York City on October 6, 2016. At the event, the Foundation will present the National Award for Heroism to the crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Bertholf and will also recognize Morton S. Bouchard III, President and CEO of Bouchard Transportation. The first of six highly capable U.S. Coast Guard National Security Cutters in active duty, Bertholf is one of the most successful Coast Guard assets to date.

SUNY Maritime to Honor Mort Bouchard

The State University of New York Maritime College will confer the honorary degree of doctor of science degree on Morton S. Bouchard III, the president and CEO of Bouchard Transportation Company, Inc., during winter 2016 commencement exercises Friday, January 29. Mort Bouchard is his family's fourth generation to manage Bouchard Transportation Company, Inc., the largest privately owned ocean-going petroleum barge company in the United States. Bouchard Transportation operates on the East and Gulf coasts of the United States and in the Caribbean.

New VP of Sales & Operations at Bouchard Transportation

Independently-owned ocean-going petroleum barge company Bouchard Transportation Co., Inc. announced the appointment of Brendan J. Bouchard as VP of Sales and Operations, establishing the fifth generation of the Bouchard family. Bouchard Transportation was started by Brendan J. Bouchard’s great great grandfather, Capt. Fred Bouchard, and passed on down to his great grandfather, Morton S. Bouchard Sr., then to his grandfather Morton S. Bouchard Jr.,  and then to his father, Morton S. Bouchard III,  to whom Brendan will report.

Bouchard Vessels Honored by SCA

Forty-three Bouchard Transportation Co., Inc. vessels have been honored by The Chamber of Shipping America (CSA) with Certificates of Environmental Achievement. The awards, given out on Thursday, November 13, recognize vessels that have operated for two full years or more without an environmental incident. “These commendations are a testament to the hard work of both our safety department and our vessel employees,” said Morton S. American Maritime Safety Award Recipients Announced

American Maritime Safety, Inc., (AMS), announced today that Bouchard Transportation Company, Inc., Circle Line Sightseeing Cruises, General Dynamics/American Overseas Marine Corporation, Patriot Contract Services and U.S. Shipping Corporation would be the recipients of the 2014 AMS Maritime Safety Awards. AMS is a nonprofit maritime trade association, which facilitates the maritime industry's compliance with international shipping protocols and U.S. Coast Guard regulations. The AMS consortium is comprised of more than 400 vessel owners and operators.

Scholarship Dinner Raises $700k for SUNY Maritime

The State University of New York Maritime College honored two industry leaders at its annual Admiral’s Scholarship Dinner last week, with more than 500 alumni, industry partners, friends, students, faculty and staff in attendance on the Maritime College campus. Bouchard Orders Articulated Tug Barge from VT Halter

VT Halter Marine, Inc., Pascagoula, Miss., announced a new contract to build an Articulated Tug Barge (ATB) unit with an option unit for Bouchard Transportation Co., Inc. (Bouchard). The barge will measure 625 x 91 x47 ft., has a 250,000-barrel capacity, and will be used to transport liquid petroleum. It will be ABS and USCG certified for Jones Act service. The 10,000hp twin screw ATB tug is classed by ABS as A1 Towing Vessel, Dual Mode ATB, USCG Subchapter M, and will be equipped with an Intercon Coupler System.

Bollinger, Bouchard Contract for Tank Barges

Bollinger Marine Fabricators, L.L.C., Amelia, La., a Bollinger Shipyards, Inc. company, has signed a contract for the new construction of a 55,000 barrel OPA’90 compliant tank barge with Bouchard Transportation Co., Inc., Melville, N.Y.
