TE Subcom, Alcatel-Lucen t Extend Subsea Comms Pact

TE SubCom, a TE Connectivity Ltd. company, and Alcatel-Lucent announced an expansion to their joint maintenance program for submarine optical communication links throughout the Pacific basin. The Pacific End-to-End Maintenance Solution boosts the companies’ ability to maintain and repair undersea cables in the northern Pacific region, to support current telecommunications clients and other potential customers seeking marine services. Submarine cable networks connect countries and continents, carrying vast amounts of data traffic, including video.

Brazilian PSVs Gain GE Power and Positioning

School-boat Propulsion System Order for Northern Lights

A new Maritime Aquarium (Norwalk, Conn. USA) research & floating schoolhouse vessel to be fitted with Northern Lights' Hybrid Marine System. Northern Lights Hybrid Marine is an ideal fit for the Maritime Aquarium. Their new 65-foot research vessel – designed by Incat Crowther – will be used throughout Long Island Sound to entertain and inform aquarium patrons. Installing the Hybrid Marine system allows the vessel the clean, reliable propulsion it needs to travel out into the Sound.

Real-world Training in Environmental Compliance

In order to provide cadets with hands-on environmental compliance training with the latest technology, State University of New York (SUNY) Maritime College will install a digital environmental compliance tool aboard the Training Ship Empire State (T/S Empire State) for Summer Sea Term 2018.Ocean Guardian is a digitization tool developed by Total Marine Solutions to match a vessel’s location to a comprehensive regulatory database of international, national, regional, port and company regulations for discharge streams.
