Shell, Qatargas Sign LNG Deal for Kuwait
The world’s largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) producer Qatargas has signed a new, long-term LNG sale and purchase agreement (SPA) with Shell to deliver 1 million tons per annum of LNG to Kuwait, commencing this year.Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, the Minister of State for Energy Affairs said, “We are pleased to announce this new long term agreement between Qatargas and Shell for the supply of LNG to the State of Kuwait, following the recent agreement signed between Qatar Petroleum and Kuwait Petroleum Corporation.

Qatargas, RWE Ink SPA Deal for LNG Deliveries
Qatargas, the World’s Premier LNG Company, today announced a flexible Sale and Purchase Agreement (SPA) with RWE Supply Trading (RWEST), a leading European electricity and gas company. UASC, Qatargas and Shell Join to Push LNG as Marine Fuel
Qatargas, United Arab Shipping Company (UASC) and Shell signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore the development of LNG as a marine fuel in the Middle East region. This is the second such agreement signed by Qatargas and Shell in as many months and establishes another core partnership within the shipping industry. The MoU was signed by Qatargas chief executive Khalid bin Khalifa al-Thani, UASC chief executive Jorn Hinge and Qatar Shell Companies managing director and chairman Michiel Kool.
Qatargas in 4-Year Deal to Supply LNG to Kuwait
Qatargas and Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) have signed a deal to supply half a million tonnes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Kuwait over the next four years, according to a report. The LNG will be sourced from Qatargas 2, a joint venture among Qatar Petroleum, ExxonMobil and Total which started production in 2009, and will be delivered onboard Q-Flex LNG Vessels, chartered by Qatargas, to KPC’s Mina al-Ahmadi LNG receiving terminal in Kuwait. Qatargas, Maersk, Shell in LNG Marine Fuel Partnership
Three heavy weights have come together in the Middle East to promote LNG as marine fuel in the region - Qatargas, the Maersk Group and Royal Dutch Shell Plc signing a memorandum of understanding to explore future opportunities. All three have pledged to look at ways to develop new markets for using LNG as propulsion fuel. The MOU envisages Qatargas 4, a joint venture between Qatar Petroleum and Shell, to begin supplying Maersk’s merchant fleet with LNG fuel “before the end of the current decade”, Qatargas, the world’s largest LNG producer, said in a statement.
Qatargas Sells First LNG Cargo to JOVO
Qatargas sold its first cargo of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Jovo LNG Storage and Transportation Co., Ltd. (“JOVO”), an independent LNG importer from the People’s Republic of China. The 64,000 cubic meter cargo was sold on a free-on-board basis and loaded on to the vessel LNG Lerici at Ras Laffan port on 22 October pursuant to the FOB Master Sale and Purchase Agreement signed by the parties earlier this summer. The cargo will be delivered to JOVO’s LNG terminal located in Lisha Island, Dongguan in the Guangdong province.
