Iridium Teams Up to Supply Mexico
To accelerate growth in the Mexican market, Iridium Communications Inc. (NASDAQ: IRDM) announced it has signed three additional distribution partners in Mexico. These three new partners supplement the distribution channel for the new Iridium Mexico subsidiary (or Iridium Comunicaciones de Mexico S.A.P.I. de C.V.) that the company announced on October 21, 2009. Iridium Mexico is a joint venture between Iridium and Spacenet Communications Services de Mexico S.A. de C.V. (Spacenet).
Dawkins Joins Iridium Board of Directors

Dawkins, founder and principal of ShiningStar Capital LLC, and Brigadier General, U.S. Army (Retired), joined its Board of Directors. The appointment brings Iridium’s Board to ten members. USCG Approves CLS Thorium Terminal for LRIT

(NASDAQ: IRDM) announced that the U.S. Coast Guard has type-approved the CLS Thorium terminal for Long-Range Identification and Tracking (LRIT). The type approval clears the way for CLS America, a subsidiary of CLS, to equip ships sailing under the U.S. flag to comply with the international LRIT carriage requirements. Iridium Communications Inc. (NASDAQ: IRDM) and H2OSatellite provided critical satellite communications for Beluga Shipping’s successful pioneering transit of the challenging Northeast Passage this summer. The Beluga ships relied on Iridium OpenPort high-bandwidth marine satellite systems supplied by H2OSatellite for voice and data links throughout their voyage through the extreme Northern waterways, most of which are not reliably covered by any other long-range communication service.
