Intelsat Launches Intelsat 31
Intelsat S.A. (NYSE: I), operator of the world’s first Globalized Network, powered by its leading satellite backbone, announced the successful launch of the Intelsat 31 satellite, which is hosting the DLA-2 payload for DIRECTV Latin America. Intelsat 31 was launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome, Kazakhstan aboard an ILS Proton launch vehicle. Liftoff occurred at 7:10 GMT. The Intelsat 31 satellite separated from the rocket’s upper stage at 22:41 GMT, and signal acquisition has been confirmed.

Intelsat Appoints Jacques Kerrest as CFO
Satellite services provider Intelsat S.A. announced that Jacques Kerrest will join the company as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, reporting to Intelsat’s Chief Executive Officer, Stephen Spengler. Kerrest will be responsible for the leadership of Intelsat’s financial operations, including capital markets, accounting, treasury, financial planning, investor relations and corporate development. He will be a member of the company’s Management Committee and is expected to begin his duties on February 1. Kerrest joins Intelsat from DPC Data Inc.
Intelsat, JSAT to Launch Satellite for Asia Pacific
Intelsat S.A., a provider of satellite services, and SKY Perfect JSAT Corporation has announced that the two companies have signed a definitive agreement to form a joint venture that will launch a new satellite with optimized C-band and high throughput Ku-band capacity to satisfy the growing mobility and broadband connectivity demands in the Asia-Pacific region. To be known as Horizons 3e, the satellite is based on the Intelsat EpicNG high throughput design which, upon launch, will complete the global footprint of the Intelsat EpicNG next generation platform.
Intelsat 34 Satellite Launched Successfully
Intelsat S.A. today reported that its Intelsat 34 satellite was launched successfully from French Guiana aboard an Ariane 5 vehicle. Liftoff occurred at 4:34 pm EDT. The Intelsat 34 satellite separated from the rocket’s upper stage 40 minutes after launch, at 5:14 pm EDT, and signal acquisition has been confirmed. Intelsat 34 is a C- and Ku-band satellite to be placed into service at the 304.5ºE orbital location. It will replace Intelsat 805 and Galaxy 11 as the third in Intelsat’s leading Latin America, pan-regional video distribution neighborhood (which includes Intelsat 11 and Intelsat 21).
Intelsat Names Schmidt VP of Marketing
Satellite services provider Intelsat S.A. announced that Karen Schmidt has been named as the company’s vice president of marketing, effective immediately. Schmidt, a marketing executive with more than 25 years’ experience, will lead Intelsat’s product and marketing efforts for Intelsat’s portfolio of connectivity services for media, broadband, mobility and government customers. Functions reporting to Schmidt will include product management, product marketing and marketing communications. She will be based in McLean, Va.
Cooper Named VP at Intelsat
Intelsat S.A. today announced that Patricia Cooper has been named as the company's Vice President, Government Affairs and Policy, effective August 25. In this newly created role, Cooper will be responsible for leading the company's U.S., European and other international government lobbying and advocacy activities and relationship management. She will also manage Intelsat's political programs in the United States, including overseeing the company's political action committee. Cooper will work closely with other companies, associations and coalitions on issues of mutual interest.
Intelsat and SpeedCast Join Forces
New Agreement Brings Market Leading Broadband and Mobility Solutions to the Maritime, Oil & Gas and Enterprise Sectors. Intelsat S.A. (NYSE: I) has established strategic agreement to provide access to its global C- and Ku-band broadband mobility network to SpeedCast, the leading global satellite communications and maritime service provider. Under the multi-year agreement, Intelsat will provide SpeedCast access to Intelsat’s global C-band and Ku-band satellite capacity as well as to its terrestrially managed network, IntelsatOneSM.
Callahan Appointed to Intelsat Board
Intelsat S.A. announced that Robert F. Callahan, Chairman of Longueview, a media, internet and technology advisory firm, was elected to the company's board of directors, effective April 1, 2014. Callahan will join as an independent member of the board and serve on the company's audit committee. "Bob's successful track record leading global media companies will make him a tremendous asset to our board," said David McGlade, chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Intelsat. Callahan, 62, brings a wealth of experience in the media, internet and technology sectors to Intelsat.

Intelsat S.A. announced that its subsidiary, Intelsat (Luxembourg) S.A. intends to offer $1,500,000,000 aggregate principal amount of senior notes due 2021. Astrium Extends Agreement with Intelsat
Astrium Services, a global provider of satellite communications-enabled solutions, and Intelsat S.A., a provider of satellite services, signed a multi-year renewal agreement for C-band capacity to be used by Astrium Services' maritime customers in the Mediterranean, Atlantic Ocean, North Sea and Gulf of Mexico. The agreement will enable the new Business Communications unit of Astrium Services to continue meeting the high bandwidth requirements of C-band customized VSAT users, and supports broadband and expanded capabilities in the cruise, ferry and offshore sectors.
