Corvus to Deliver Battery Solutions to Chinese Ports
Corvus Energy has announced that it will provide Orca Energy lithium-ion energy storage systems (ESS) for four hybrid rubber-tired gantry cranes (RTGs) for CCCC Shanghai Equipment Engineering (CCCCSEE). The RTGs are the first of many cranes at the Chinese Port of Changshu to undergo a diesel to battery hybrid conversion using a Corvus Orca ESS. PBES Lithium Energy Storage for HH Ferries
Plan B Energy Storage (PBES) said it has secured the energy storage supply contract for the two largest battery-powered ferries in the world. Each of the two Scandlines Helsingborg-Helsingör ferries will have 4.16 MWh batteries to provide power for primary propulsion. Manufacturer of lithium-ion based energy storage systems (ESS) Corvus Energy said it is set to unveil its next generation product line, Orca ESS, specifically designed and built to meet the needs of maritime applications. Imtech, CMAL Win Electric & Hybrid Propulsion Awards
Imtech Marine and Caledonian Maritime Assets Ltd (CMAL) have won the Electric & Hybrid Propulsion System and Supplier of the Year Awards at the Electric and Hybrid World Expo, held in Amsterdam. Rotterdam-headquartered Imtech Marine was asked by Ferguson Shipbuilders in Scotland, the yard building the new CMAL ferries, to supply a hybrid propulsion system for the first ever diesel electric, hybrid seagoing ferries in 2011, with the aim of reducing fuel, noise and emissions. CMAL operates 30 ferries on the west coast of Scotland to 18 islands.
