Giarratano Named VP of Manufacturing for DSC Dredge

Nick “Nicky” Giarratano was promoted to Vice President of Manufacturing of DSC Dredge, LLC.Giarratano has severed  more than 24 years in various roles in both engineering and manufacturing. He started his career at DSC drafting and designing dredging equipment but quickly moved up the ranks to Project Manager and his latter post of Production Manager, to most recent Director of Production.In his new role Giarratano will oversee the manufacturing operations and logistics for all DSC properties, including both the overall facilities and teams in Reserve, La.; Poplarville, Miss.

DSC Dredge Wins USACE Dredge Bid

DSC Dredge, LLC wins bid for a new, non-propelled, cutter suction head dredge solicited by The Marine Design Center (MDC) of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) earlier this month. When completed, the new cutter suction head dredge will operate out of Astara, Azerbaijan to not only maintain the harbor depth and harbor entrance but the US Government is purchasing this dredge for the country of Azerbaijan as a part of Azerbaijan’s support of the US in anti-terrorism efforts.

DSC Dredge’s Miller Retires

On October 16, 2018, after 38  years in the dredging industry, David Miller, SVP/COO and part owner of DSC Dredge, LLC  announced his retirement. Miller embarked on his career in the early 1980’s when he began working for Kenner Marine & Machinery (KMM). Following several consecutive KMM positions, David completed his final 10 years there as a field service specialist.Miller was one of the original founders of Best Equipment Technologies, Inc. (BEST), established in 1998, located in Poplarville, MS. BEST operated as a steel fabrication shop and dredge manufacturer.

Commerce Secretary Ross Taps DSC Dredge CEO Wetta to Key Post

Bob Wetta to serve on President Trump's Advisory Council on Doing Business in Africa. On April 26, 2018, Secretary Wilbur Ross, United States Department of Commerce, appointed Bob Wetta, President and CEO of DSC Dredge LLC to serve on the President’s Advisory Council on Doing Business in Africa (PAC-DBIA). Bob Wetta named Charlie Sinunu, DSC’s Director of International Dredge Sales to his staff and they will help identify commercial opportunities for the United States in the region. DSC Dredge Receives President’s E-Star Award

DSC Dredge, LLC, based in Reserve, La., has received the 2016 President’s “E-Star” Award for exports. In a ceremony held on May 16, 2016, at the U.S. Department of Commerce’s headquarters in Washington, D.C., Department of Commerce Secretary Penny Pritzker said, “These companies demonstrate the opportunity inherent in selling Made-in-America products to the broad customer base that exists outside our borders. During her remarks, Secretary Pritzker singled out several companies, including DSC.
