Massport Board Appoints New CEO
The Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) picked its port director, Lisa Wieland, to be its next Chief Executive Officer(CEO), bypassing the other finalist, a member of the city's power elite, for one of the most influential public-sector jobs in the state.Board of Directors voted to offer Wieland the position of CEO and Executive Director for a five-year term. Contract negotiations will occur at a later date.The search firm Isaacson, Miller sought a diverse candidate pool for the position and more than 100 applications were received.
New Leadership at Alphatron Marine
Alphatron Marine announced that Arno Metzemakers will join the company's management team as General Manager responsible for all operational matters worldwide, effective June 1. Next to Metzemakers, Karin Hoogendam will be appointed as COO. Together with Wil Walhain (CFO), they will be the day-to-day management of the Alphatron Marine Group. Luuk Vroombout will maintain responsibility as President CEO and will remain member of the Executive Board together with Dick Slingerland.
Meijer Steps Down as Huisman CEO
André Meijer will step down from his position as CEO of Huisman, with immediate effect. The company said it will implement an internal solution and adjust the management structure accordingly, if required. Joop Roodenburg will remain involved in the day-to-day management of the company and continue in his role as Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Huisman is a globally operating company with extensive experience in the design and manufacturing of heavy construction equipment for on- and offshore companies.
Noreco CEO Quits
Norwegian Energy Company ASA (Noreco) announces that Tommy Sundt is stepping down as CEO of Noreco ASA. Since joining Noreco in September 2014, Tommy Sundt has played a very important role during the financial and corporate restructuring of the Company. Whilst Mr. Sundt’s role as CEO for the Noreco group will cease with effect from this announcement, Mr. Sundt will continue to fill the role as general manager for the Norwegian operations until the end of 2015. Mr. Sundt’s departure has been agreed with the Board and Mr. Sundt will receive severance payment in accordance with his contract.
Trelleborg Appoints Welling as Regional President for U.S.
Trelleborg’s marine operation has demonstrated its commitment to growing business in the U.S. with the appointment of Paul Welling as the region’s new president. Yanmar America Restructures Leadership Team
Increased business complexity, combined with the need to increase support of globalization and expansion of Yanmar Holdings Ltd., has caused Yanmar America to evaluate and restructure some of its key leadership positions effective June 1, 2014. Yanmar America announced that Ted Bregar will relinquish his duties as President of Yanmar America and assume the responsibilities as Chairman & Senior Executive Advisor to Yanmar America. Calecore Appoints Geotechnical Division GM
Calecore announced the appointment of Mike Southall who commenced employment with the company in June 2013 as General Manager, Calegeo. Mike is a chartered engineer and geologist with nearly 30 years experience as a practicing geotechnical engineer and was previously General Manager for SEtech Ltd.
