Blue Water Assists Marine Group in Lock System Elements
The freight transport solutions provider Blue Water Shipping has assisted Marine Group AB, Sweden with placing three out of four lock system elements with great accuracy on board Marine Group’s barge “Carrier 16” in Copenhagen.According to Blue Water, subsequently the barge was to transport the elements to Stockholm, Sweden to form part of a major lock system. The biggest element measured 25 by 65 meters, and “Carrier 16” was adjusted for this specific project.But first of all, the four lock system elements had to be moved out of the dry dock on Refshaleøen, it said.

Danish Maritime Authority Calls for Renewal of Shipping Documents
Time has come to apply for renewal of CLC, Bunker, Athens and Wreck Removal Certificates from the Danish Maritime Authority (DMA). The certificates must be renewed once a year when the underlying insurance expires.According to DMA, ships that are required to hold a certificate must not operate without valid certificates.Many certificates expire on 20 February 2019.These are typically CLC, Bunker, Athens and Wreck Removal Certificates based on P&I insurance.Some CLC, Bunker, Athens and WRC Certificates expire on dates other than 20 February 2019.

DMA: Third Party Liability Insurance Mandatory for Small Vessels
After new regulation, all speedboats with a hull length below 15 m, personal watercrafts/jet skis and similar vessels must now be covered by a 3. part liability insurance. Denmark: New Regulations for Operating Personal Watercraft
When new regulations of the Danish Government become effective from 1 January 2018, operators of personal watercraft must complete a theoretical as well as a practical test. As part of the Danish Government’s efforts to enhance the safety of those using the sea for recreational purposes, the Danish Maritime Authority (DMA) will now require operators of personal watercraft and the like to hold a special personal watercraft license. DMA Promotes Cross-border Digitalisation
International cooperation on standardisation and maritime digitalisation are this year’s themes as the Danish Maritime Authority and IALA are hosting the conference ’e-Navigation Underway’ for the eighth time. European e-Navigation Solutions Tested for Human Factors
The EU funded EfficienSea2 project, which aims to implement innovative and smart solutions to increase efficient, safe and sustainable traffic at sea, has finished a full-scale simulation of a wide variety of e-Navigation solutions. Climate Agreement for Shipping Is Now One Step Closer to Reality
After two weeks' intensive debate in the International Maritime Organization (IMO) , steps have been taken towards specific measures to reduce shipping's greenhouse gas emissions, says a statement from Danish Maritime Authority (DMA). Last year, United Nations International Maritime Organization (IMO) decided that a final climate strategy should be adopted in 2023. Campaign Focuses on Safety of Navigation
The two major Port State Control regimes – Paris MoU and Tokyo MoU – will focus especially on navigational safety in a so-called Concentrated Inspection Campaign (CIC) is being taken place from 1 September until 30 November 2017, said Danish Maritime Authority. The inspection campaign (CIC) will be carried out over a period of three months as part of routine Port State Control inspections. Denmark's Stricter Regulations for Vessels
To increase safety at sea, requirements will be introduced for a personal watercraft certificate and insurance as well as improved possibilities of imposing sanctions after accidents involving personal watercraft, powerboats and similar vessels, said Danish Maritime Authority (DMA). Today, the Danish Government has submitted a bill for consultation to increase the safety of persons involved in recreational activities at sea. The bill submitted for consultation proposes to require operators of personal watercraft and powerboats to take out liability insurance in the future.
Sino-Danish Focus on Energy Efficient Ships
A delegation from the Chinese Ministry of Industry is visiting Denmark as part of the cooperation between the two Administrations. Denmark Calls for Regulation for Autonomous Ships
Maritime regulation should be made more flexible if it is to support the development of autonomous ships. A new report published by The Danish Maritime Authority (DMA) identifies where changes in maritime regulation are needed.
