Forth Ports Orders Harbor Tug
Damen Shipyards Group has signed a contract with Forth Ports Limited for an ASD Tug 2312. The new vessel will operate as part of the Forth Estuary Towage operation, conducting towage work at various Forth Ports locations as well as providing towage services to other external customers in Scotland.Forth Ports has a range of existing operations in the Forth and Tay Estuaries that will benefit from the acquisition of this new vessel, however, the new vessel will also provide opportunities to service new emerging markets such as decommissioning and offshore wind.
Keel Laid for Nigerian Navy Landing Craft

Five Coastal Ferries for Zanzibar
Damen Shipyards signed a contract with the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications & Transport of the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar for the supply of five inshore ferries to carry tourists visiting Pemba Island and others nearby in the Zanzibar Archipelago.The contract is for three vessels of the Damen Ferry 804 design and two of the Damen Ferry 1204 design, together with a spare parts package for the first year of operation and on-site training in operating and maintaining the vessels.
Hamburg Port Orders 2 Fireboats
The Hamburg Port Authority (HPA) has ordered two more fire-fighting vessels following the delivery of modern fireboat, the "Branddirektor Westphal".As with the previous order, both vessels will be fitted with Schottel thrusters – in this case, two Schottel Rudderpropellers and one Schottel Transverse Thruster. These will enable maximum maneuverability in the restricted fairway of the Port of Hamburg.This mobility is also guaranteed in situations that require fast response times.

New Vessel for Windermere Lake Cruises
MV Swift was launched December 11, 2019 into the waters of Windermere in the Lake District National Park.Damen Shipyards Group is building the vessel on location via the Damen Technical Cooperation (DTC) for Windermere Lake Cruises.At 34m, the vessel is slightly shorter than the company’s existing flagships, MV Swan and MV Teal. This will enable the vessel to dock at smaller jetties in the area, thereby providing economic stimulus to a wider pool of local businesses.Windermere Lake Cruises operates a fleet of 16 vessels currently.

Dutch shipbuilding conglomerate Damen Shipyards Group, in collaboration with the compatriot high tech company Delft Dynamics and Next Ocean, has trialed a new approach to Search and Rescue (SAR) in the North Sea.The collaboration involved qualification testing of Delft Dynamics RH3 drone (RH-3 Swift), along with a fast rescue boat launched from a Damen Sea Axe Fast Crew Supply (FCS) Vessel equipped with Next Ocean’s wave and vessel motion predictor.The goal was to test the limits of drone helicopter operations offshore; a significant project given the notable size of the drone involved.
Damen Snags Ferry Order from B.C. Ferries
Damen Shipyards Group has won a repeat order from B.C. Ferries for four additional Damen Road Ferries 8117 E3, also known as the “Island Class vessels”. The diesel-electric hybrid ferries follow two such vessels that the client ordered from Damen in 2017. Damen Shipyards Group signed a contract with the Port Authority of Jamaica (PAJAM) for the delivery of a Utility Vessel 3911. The vessel will be used by Damen’s client for buoy-laying and maintenance support operations in the ports of the island nation.Damen has a long relationship with PAJAM, stretching back to the 1990s, when the port authority placed orders with Damen for two Stan Tugs 2909. This was followed, more recently, by orders for two Pilot Vessels 1605.The UV 3911 is a 39.4 x 10.8 meter vessel built to facilitate a crew of twelve.

Napier Port, the third largest port on New Zealand’s North Island, has placed an order with Damen Shipyards Group for an Azimuth Tractor Drive (ATD) Tug 2412 Twin Fin for delivery later this year.The contract was signed by Sjoerd de Bruin, sales manager Pacific for Damen and Napier Port CEO Todd Dawson at Napier Port main office.Napier Port is currently developing a sixth wharf which, at 350 meters long, will be capable of handling the larger vessels that are expected to access the port in the near future.

Caspian Offshore Construction has recently taken delivery of a Damen Stan Tug 1606 ICE class in Kazakhstan.
