ALMACO Helps Refurb Crystal Serenity

ALMACO Group recently delievered 36 new luxurious Seabreeze Penthouses and two new spacious Seabreeze Penthouse Suites to Crystal Cruises’ ocean-going vessel Crystal Serenity. The project, which was part of an extensive redesign of the ship, started during the drydock at Lloyd Werft shipyard in Bremehaven, Germany, in mid-October and the suites were delivered on November 10, 2018, in Lisbon, Portugal, from where the ship sailed towards Fort Lauderdale, Fla.ALMACO’s scope of work…

Crystal Cruises Implements Adonis HR Platform

Adonis AS (Adonis), providers of global maritime HR solutions, has announced that Crystal Cruises, a U.S.-based luxury cruise line, is Installing Adonis Personnel Management Suite in their new fleet of River Cruise Vessels. The solution will enable Crystal Cruises to automate Crew Management and Competence, Scheduling, Time Capture and Payroll across their entire fleet of River Cruise vessels. Crystal Cruises Plans for Expansion

Crystal Cruises announced an expansion plan under new owners Genting Hong Kong that includes three 1,000-passenger vessels, its first new ships in decades. Plus, Crystal will expand into adventure, yacht and river cruising, and luxury jet trips. The three Crystal Exclusive Class ships will be about the same size as the 20-year-old Crystal Symphony and the slightly larger 2003-built Crystal Serenity. The line has signed a letter of intent with Lloyd Werft to build the ocean ships, which will have an unprecedented space ratio of 100 gross tons of space per guest, Crystal said.

Crystal to Cruise via Arctic Northwest Passage in 2016

Crystal Cruises says it is introducing a new expedition-style voyage traversing the Arctic Ocean via the Northwest Passage (500 miles north of the Arctic Circle) that explorers spent centuries seeking, until it was first completed successfully by Roald Amundsen just over 100 years ago. Crystal claims to be the first luxury cruise line to ever navigate the route, maneuvering through 900 miles of majestic waterways lined with spectacular glaciers, towering fjords, and vast unspoiled landscapes away from mainstream civilization and tourism, north of mainland Canada.

Crystal Cruises' Bookings Surge

Crystal Cruises reports a 38% increase in advance bookings & an increase of $93 million in revenue over the same time last year. The cruise line says it kicked off 2013 with 'Book Now Fares', direct mail increases, strong travel agent promotional support worldwide, and robust onboard bookings. In just the past two months, Crystal has also reaped a half dozen travel magazine awards voted by the traveling public and professional travel agents, underscored by service, food, entertainment and design ratings gained from its post-cruise Quality Assurance guest surveys.

Crystal Cruises Condé Nast Traveler Best Cruise Line 2012

Condé Nast Traveler magazine (U.S.) readers have named Crystal Cruises the “Best Cruise Line” (mid-size) for 2012. The Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards honor the best hotels, airlines, cruise lines, cities, rental car companies, and islands from around the world. A record 46,476 readers voted this year, ranking their personal experiences with cruise lines’ activities/facilities, staterooms, crew/service, design/ship layout, food/dining, itineraries/schedule, and shore excursions.

Mazloum Heads Crystal Cruises’ Fleet Ops

Thomas Mazloum has been promoted to Crystal Cruises’ senior vice president, operations. Mazloum, who has served as Crystal’s senior vice president, hotel operations, since 2003 assumed the responsibilities for the fleet’s marine operations this month with the March 31 retirement of Joe Valenti, Crystal’s senior vice president, marine operations.
