Transmetrics’ digital solution optimizes marine logistics using AI technologies and Marlink’s global multi-band networkMarlink has signed an agreement with Transmetrics to establish a strategic business partnership aimed at predictive logistics optimization for maritime customers. The agreement will enable Transmetrics, a Forbes-awarded start-up, to leverage Marlink’s broadband satellite communications network, digital solutions and contacts to further develop maritime logistics innovations.

​Guthrie to Direct KVH Initiatives in Asia-Pacific Region

KVH Industries, Inc. announced that Mark Guthrie has been named KVH’s vice president for the Asia-Pacific region.Guthrie will oversee all KVH activities in this area, which is of vital importance in the mobile connectivity market. Mobile tech innovator KVH provides connectivity solutions for the maritime market, including global mini-VSAT Broadbands services used by thousands of vessels worldwide.Guthrie joined KVH in 2013, and has held a variety of roles, most recently serving as vice president for global channel management.

Campbell Shipping Migrates to Inmarsat Fleet Xpress

Inmarsat said it has reached an agreement with Campbell Shipping, a ship management company headquartered in Nassau, The Bahamas, to migrate its fleet of dry bulk carriers to Fleet Xpress. The commitment will involve a migration and upgrade from Inmarsat’s XpressLink services to Fleet Xpress, in a move to ensure ships managed by Campbell ships will continue to have the best satellite connectivity service available on the market, according to Capt. Anindya Dasgupta, VP Human Capital, Campbell Shipping.

Allcargo Logistics, Concor Partner on Connectivity Solutions

Allcargo Logistics Limited, an integrated logistics solutions provider, collaborates with Concor (Container Corporation of India), a Navratna company of government of India to provide better transport solutions for their customers. This partnership entails Allcargo to transport its containers on Concor rakes between JNPT to TIHI (Indore). The initiative armed with the objective of promoting EXIM trade and providing better services to customers has kick started its inaugural train from JNPT.

Globecomm Integrates Business Units

Globecomm,  providers of maritime connectivity services, is integrating its Telaurus and Globecomm South Africa business units to enhance service provision to ship owners. Globecomm South Africa is an Inmarsat Distribution Partner and L-Band specialist supporting service providers and resellers, while Telaurus has been one of the maritime industry’s leading communications solutions providers for many years. Hydro Group: Invest in the Future

Figures published earlier this year show that Scotland’s current levels of youth unemployment (16-24-year-olds) is at 853,000 – 18.8 percent – more than double that of the average age working population.
