Speedcast, Danaos Partner on Maritime Digitalization

Speedcast International Limited, the provider of remote communication and IT solutions, and Danaos Peripherals announced a strategic alliance agreement under which the two companies will combine maritime communications with advanced application management developed by Danaos. Within 2017, the two companies will jointly release a remote and autonomous IT system on board a vessel, leveraging key technologies such as big data analytics, internet of things (IoT) and cyber security.

General Dynamics Wins DLA Enterprise IT Contract

Company will deliver IT support services to the military, civilian agencies and foreign countries. General Dynamics Information Technology, a business unit of General Dynamics, was awarded a contract to support the Defense Logistics Agency’s J6 Enterprise Technology Services program. Radio Holland Supplies Communications for Weir Complexes

Radio Holland’s Mission Critical Communications (MCC) department is responsible for the design, supply and commissioning of the communications system for the Nederrijn and Lek weir complex. This complex, consisting of three hydraulic structures, will be subjected to a major renovation. The Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure (Rijkswaterstaat) awarded the contract for this programme to Siemens in late 2015. Siemens had included the communications system designed by Radio Holland in its tender bid.

Globecomm Integrates Business Units

Inmarsat has appointed SpeedCast International Limited (SpeedCast), a leading global network and satellite communications service provider, as a Distribution Partner (DP) for its flagship maritime service, FleetBroadband, and Fleet One, its new voice and broadband data service for leisure yachts and near-shore fishing boats. As part of the agreement signed today, SpeedCast has also been appointed as a Value Added Reseller (VAR) for Fleet Xpress, Inmarsat’s high-speed broadband maritime service, delivered over the new Global Xpress (GX) constellation.

RigNet Launches iDirect Australia Network

Harris CapRock Fulfill Major Cruise Line Satcom Contract

Harris CapRock has completed fleet installation of its managed communications solutions onboard 33 Royal Caribbean Cruise vessels. Since the start of the project, the company has removed 48 legacy antennas, installed 86 new ones in ports all around the world and procured more than 59,000 individual components for the project. Harris CapRock has developed a new “card-less” crew-calling kiosk and voice platform which the Royal Caribbean crew has used to make more than three million calls totalling more than 24 million minutes to date.
