Coast Guard Foundation Presents Award to Crowley

Coast Guard Foundation Hires LaBrec

The Coast Guard Foundation announced it has hired Captain Ron LaBrec USCG (Retired) as a director in the Mid-Atlantic region. The Coast Guard Foundation is a nonprofit organization committed to the education and welfare of all Coast Guard members and their families. In his new role, LaBrec will work closely with Coast Guard units in the U.S. Mid-Atlantic region to identify and fulfill education, morale and family support for Coast Guard members. LaBrec brings more than 30 years of Coast Guard service to the position.

NAMEPA to Honor Founding Chairman Maitland

The North American Marine Environment Protection Association (NAMEPA) announced that Clay Maitland will receive the organization’s Lifetime Achievement Award at an awards dinner in New York on October 26. Maitland, who is a Managing Partner of International Registries, Inc (Marshall Islands Ship Registry), is being recognized for his many industry accomplishments including being a NAMEPA co-founder. “Clay is one of the finest examples in our industry of a successful businessman who expends nearly as much energy on philanthropy,” said NAMEPA Chairman Joe Hughes.

Coast Guard Foundation Names Guardian Award Winner

The Coast Guard Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to the education and welfare of all Coast Guard members and their families, has announced that its 2017 Guardian Award will be presented to ConocoPhillips, a Houston-based oil and natural gas producing company, at the Foundation’s Tribute to the Coast Guard event on May 24 in Houston. Coast Guard Foundation Names NE Regional Director

The Coast Guard Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to the education and welfare of all Coast Guard members and their families, has announced  that Loralyn Cropper joined its staff as regional director for the Northeast. In her role, Cropper will work closely with Coast Guard units in the area to identify and fulfill education, morale and family support needs for Coast Guard members. She replaces Susan Ludwig in this position, who was recently named president of the Coast Guard Foundation.

Ludwig Named Coast Guard Foundation President

Susan P. Ludwig will replace Anne B. Brengle as president of the Coast Guard Foundation, a nonprofit organization committed to the education and welfare of all Coast Guard members and their families. Ludwig, presently Regional Director of Philanthropy, will assume her new position in January following Brengle’s retirement this December. Ludwig will lead the organization, its board and staff through a nationwide effort to increase awareness for the Coast Guard and the Foundation and strengthen support for programs that benefit Coast Guard members and their families.

Tribute to the Seventh Coast Guard District

The Coast Guard Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to the education and welfare of all Coast Guard members and their families, announced today that its annual Tribute to the Seventh Coast Guard District will be held at the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on Wednesday, November 16, 2016. At the event, the Foundation will recognize Coast Guard Sector San Juan with the Coast Guard Foundation Award and will also recognize Joseph E. Farrell, Jr., president and CEO of Resolve Marine Group, for his support of the Coast Guard Foundation.

Coast Guard Foundation President Recognized for Dedication

The Coast Guard Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to the education and welfare of all Coast Guard members and their families, announced today that at the 36th Annual Salute to the U.S. Coast Guard, which was held in New York City October 6th, President Anne B. Brengle was recognized with the Coast Guard Distinguished Public Service Award. The award was read by Coast Guard Foundation vice-chairman of the Board of Trustees, RADM James Van Sice, USCG (Ret.) and was presented by Admiral Paul Zukunft, commandant and Admiral Charles Michel, vice commandant.

Coast Guard Foundation Raises $1.2 Mln

Last night the Coast Guard Foundation held its 36th Annual Salute to the U.S. Coast Guard in New York City. The event raised $1.2 million to support important Coast Guard Foundation programs such as scholarships, the Fallen Heroes program and relief to Coast Guard Members impacted by natural disasters. At the event, the Foundation presented the National Award for Heroism to the crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Bertholf and recognized Morton S. Bouchard III, President and CEO of Bouchard Transportation.

Coast Guard Foundation to Host 2016 Salute to the USCG

The Coast Guard Foundation has announced that it will host the annual 2016 Salute to the United States Coast Guard at the Marriott Marquis in New York City on October 6, 2016. At the event, the Foundation will present the National Award for Heroism to the crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Bertholf and will also recognize Morton S. Bouchard III, President and CEO of Bouchard Transportation. The first of six highly capable U.S. Coast Guard National Security Cutters in active duty, Bertholf is one of the most successful Coast Guard assets to date.

ABS Chairman, President and CEO Christopher J. Wiernicki addressed the Coast Guard Foundation at the 2016 Pacific Area Awards Dinner in San Francisco on Friday, September 23, as a keynote speaker. Expressing pride in the long, shared history between the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) and ABS, Wiernicki recognized USCG leadership in cybersecurity as a regulatory agency and described how cybersecurity has been expanded to a holistic safety approach at ABS. “In surveying our clients, ABS confirmed that cyber as a safety issue is among their top concerns,” Wiernicki said.

Accepting applications until March 15th, children of enlisted Coast Guard members may apply for annual scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $5,000. HII’s Petters Honored by Coast Guard Foundation

Mike Petters, president and CEO of Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII), was honored by the Coast Guard Foundation at the 35th annual Salute to the United States Coast Guard, held last Thursday at the Marriott Marquis in New York City. At the dinner, Petters and HII were recognized for their support of the Coast Guard Foundation and its mission. “Huntington Ingalls Industries has been a strong supporter of the Coast Guard Foundation for the past 30 years,” said Anne Brengle, the foundation’s president.

Coast Guard Foundation Raises $250,000 for Scholarships

The Coast Guard Foundation, a nonprofit organization committed to the education and welfare of all Coast Guard members and their families, announced today that more than $1 million was raised at the 35th Annual Salute to the U.S. Coast Guard Thursday night in New York. The event was attended by more than 500. Of the $1 million raised, $250,000 will be allocated to the foundation’s scholarship program, which helps make college dreams a reality for the children of enlisted Coast Guard members.
