APL Launches Bangkok Haiphong Service

APL, part of the CMA CGM Group, has announced the launch of the Bangkok Haiphong (RBH) service that will provide weekly connectivity between South China, Thailand and Vietnam.An express service from South China to Thailand, the RBH service will make an alternative sailing choice from Shekou to Laem Chabang. The service also offers shippers direct connectivity from Bangkok and Laem Chabang to Haiphong.The RBH service will begin sailing from Nansha on July, 3rd. CMA CGM Group Cut Emission by 17%

Largest Boxship Ever Transits Panama Canal

Today, the Panama Canal completed a trial transit of Evergreen’s Triton, the largest vessel in dimension and container cargo capacity to pass through the Expanded Canal since it opened in June 2016.The Neopanamax containership Triton, which has a Total TEU Allowance (TTA) of 15,313, a 20-row beam of 51.2 meters and a length of 369 meters, transited northbound from the Pacific to the Atlantic Ocean.Similar to the milestone Q-Flex transit completed on May 12, today’s achievement was made possible by an increase to the maximum allowable beam for vessels transiting the Neopanamax Locks.

CMA CGM Orders 10 Boxships from China

Shipping group CMA CGM has reinforced its Europe / Indian Ocean & Australia offering by upgrading its NEMO service, which liaises North Europe and the Mediterranean to the Indian Ocean Islands and Australia on the southbound leg and Australia to southeast Asia and Europe on the northbound leg.This upgraded service will be effective in September 2019 and operated in partnership with MSC, subject to applicable filing requirements.CMA CGM said the new offer will feature an upgraded fleet and provide expanded port coverage through a better utilization of hubs offering dedicated feeder services.
