Bollinger to Build 6 More FRCs for the USCG

Bollinger Shipyards, Inc., Lockport, Louisiana, announced the award of six additional USCG Sentinel Class Fast Response Cutters (FRCs). The U. S. Coast Guard (USCG) awarded a $255 million contract option to Bollinger Shipyards of Lockport, La., July 23, 2014 for the production of six more Sentinel-Class FRCs, bringing the total number of FRCs under contract with Bollinger to 30, with a current contract value of $1.4 billion. The FRCs acquired under this contract option are scheduled to be delivered in 2017 and will be homeported at various bases throughout the U.S.

Bollinger Delivers 10th FRC to the USCG

Bollinger Shipyards, Inc. has delivered the Raymond Evans, the 10th Fast Response Cutter (FRC) to the United States Coast Guard (USCG). The announcement was made by Bollinger President, Chris Bollinger: “We are extremely proud to announce the delivery of the Raymond Evans, the latest FRC built by Bollinger, to the 7th Coast Guard District in Key West, Fla. The Raymond Evans, as well as the previous nine FRC deliveries, were proudly delivered on time and on budget. The 154 foot patrol craft Raymond Evans is the tenth vessel in the Coast Guard's Sentinel-class FRC program.

Bollinger Delivers Eighth FRC to USCG

Bollinger Shipyards, Inc. has delivered the Charles Sexton, the eighth Fast Response Cutter (FRC) to the United States Coast Guard. The announcement was made by Bollinger President, Chris Bollinger, “We are very pleased to announce another successful on-time and on-budget FRC delivery to the U.S. Coast Guard. The Charles Sexton was delivered to the 7th Coast Guard District in Key West, Fla., and will be stationed at USCG Sector Key West. The 154-foot patrol craft Charles Sexton is the eighth vessel in the Coast Guard's Sentinel-class FRC program.

Bollinger Delivers Coast Guard FR-Cutter

Bollinger Shipyards, Inc. deliver  'Paul Clark', the sixth Fast Response Cutter (FRC) for the United States Coast Guard. The announcement was made by Bollinger executive vice president of new construction, Chris Bollinger:  “We are very pleased to announce another successful on-time and on-budget FRC delivery to the Coast Guard. The Paul Clark was delivered to the 7th Coast Guard District in Key West, FL, and will be stationed at USCG Sector Miami. The 154 foot patrol craft Paul Clark is the sixth vessel in the Coast Guard's Sentinel-class FRC program.

Bollinger Deliver Fifth Fast Response Cutter

Bollinger Shipyards has delivered the 'Margaret Norvell', the fifth Fast Response Cutter (FRC) to the United States Coast Guard. The 154 foot patrol craft 'Margaret Norvell' is the fifth vessel in the Coast Guard's Sentinel-class FRC program. To build the FRC, Bollinger Shipyards used a proven, in-service parent craft design based on the Damen Stan Patrol Boat 4708. It has a flank speed of 28 knots, state of the art command, control, communications and computer technology, and a stern launch system for the vessels 26 foot cutter boat.

Crowley & Jensen Maritime Win IWS 2012 Boat Awards

The companies were honored with two significant awards at the recent International Workboat Show (IWS) in New Orleans. Together Crowley Maritime Corp. and subsidiary Jensen Maritime , the company’s Seattle-based naval architecture and marine engineering firm, were honored with two of the top 10 Significant Boat awards during the seventh-annual International Workboat Show 2012. The first award was for the design of two Crowley-owned ocean class tugboats , the Ocean Wind and Ocean Wave. The second was for Jensen-designed Murden, a hopper dredge vessel developed for the U.S.

Bollinger Delivers First Ocean Class Tug to Crowley

Bollinger Marine Fabricators, L.L.C., Amelia, La., a Bollinger Shipyards, Inc. company, has delivered the OCEAN WAVE, the first of four “Ocean” class tugs, to Crowley Maritime Corporation. “We are extremely proud of our Ocean Class team and the delivery of the first in class tug, OCEAN WAVE, said Chris Bollinger, executive vice president of Bollinger Shipyards, Inc. The OCEAN WAVE is the first of the Ocean class tugs and is the first of two 10,880 BHP tugs that are featured with DP1 capabilities.

Bollinger Names Bowen VP Government Relations

Bollinger announces the appointment of Charles "Skip" Bowen as Vice President Government Relations. Mr. Bowen joined Bollinger in April 2011 as Program Manager for the FRC “Sentinel” Class Patrol Boat building program at Bollinger’s Lockport facility, following a very successful 32 year career with the United States Coast Guard, culminating with the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer of the Coast Guard, from 2006 to 2010. As the Master Chief Petty Officer of the Coast Guard, Skip served as a senior advisor to the Commandant of the Coast Guard.

Bollinger Receives the SCA “Award For Excellence in Safety”

Bollinger Shipyards, Inc. was awarded the 2011 “Award for Excellence in Safety” by the Shipbuilders Council of America for the seventh consecutive year. Bollinger Issues Statement on Fast Response Cutters (FRC) Award

“The Bollinger organization is very pleased that the U. S. Coast Guard has awarded four additional Fast Response Cutters (FRC) to our on-going contract. This follow-on award will result in an extension of our backlog for several years, and provide jobs for over 500 Bollinger employees. This award reflects the Coast Guard’s continued confidence in the quality products delivered by the Bollinger team, including our workforce and team of suppliers and contractors.

Bollinger Safety Program Achieves Milestones

Bollinger Shipyards, Inc. continues to achieve safety milestones changing the culture of shipyard safety awareness at its US based facilities. In the last quarter, Bollinger facilities at Algiers and Lockport New Construction both surpassed one year without a lost time accident. Of the many program achievements this year, the Bollinger Fourchon facility reached 10 years without a LTA, and the Bollinger Marine Fabricators’ facility reached an impressive 2,750,000 man-hours worked without a LTA.

Strategic Partnership in U.S. Shipbuilding, Repair Industry

The Shipbuilders Council of America (SCA)  announced that Huntington Ingalls Industries’ Newport News Shipbuilding and Ingalls Shipbuilding Divisions and General Dynamics’ Bath Iron Works (General Dynamics NASSCO is currently a member of the SCA) have joined its national trade association. The move will enhance SCA’s ability to communicate the critical role that the shipbuilding and repair sectors play in bolstering economic, national and homeland security. “Today’s announcement is an important development for the effective representation of the shipyard industry in our nation’s capital.
