China Navigation Company Opens Vancouver Branch

CNCo, SPREP Ink Recycling MOU for Pacific Islands

The China Navigation Company (CNCo) and the Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment (SPREP) have today signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to address critical waste management issues in the Pacific islands. Naming Ceremony for CNCo Newbuilding

Following the naming of its new cement carrier, MV Aotearoa Chief, in New Zealand yesterday, The China Navigation Company (CNCo) christened its last newbuild, MV Tunsin, on 16 November at the Imabari Shipyard in Japan. Tunsin is the 241st CNCo newbuilding and the 86th vessel in this series. CNCo ordered four handysize bulk carriers (Imbari38 loggers) from Imabari Shipbuilding in 2014. Deliveries of the first three vessels, MV Taiyuan, MV Tientsin and MV Tsingtao took place between July and October this year.

China Shipyards Get B.Delta Design Bulker Orders

The latest batch of orders for Deltamarin's B.Delta design bulk carriers comes from international shipowners, all to be built in China. The B.Delta43 order by the German ship owner HBC Hamburg Bulk Carriers at CSC Qingshan Shipyard and the B.Delta37 order by the Tunisian ship owner Transbulk at Yangfan shipyard are the latest additions to Deltamarin’s B.Delta series. On top of these new orders, China Navigation Company (CNCo) has exercised an option for another four B.Delta37 vessels at Chengxi Shipyard, d’Amico an option for one more B.Delta37 at Yangfan Shipyard, and M.T.

Swire Upgrades Asia-Pac Coverage

Singapore-based liner trade division of The China Navigation Company (CNC) Swire Shipping has upgraded its multipurpose liner service coverage in the Asia Pacific region. The company’s dedicated Trans-Tasman service operating between New Zealand and Australia will be enhanced to provide a 15-day frequency. Swire will also start providing 12 additional Brisbane calls by a direct service from New Zealand. Swire Shipping’s weekly liner service from Brisbane to Lae, Papua New Guinea (PNG) will be further improved with two additional sailings per month with four-day transit times.

The contract is for the supply of navigation bridge equipment for a series of 39,500-dwt dry bulk cargo ships being built in China for the China Navigation Company Pte. Ltd., Singapore, the deep-sea shipping company of the Swire Group. Under the contract with Chengxi Shipyard Co., Ltd., Northrop Grumman's Sperry Marine business unit will deliver four shipsets to the company's shipyard in Jiangyin, China, for installation.
