Kalmar Strengthens Cooperation with VidaXL

The provider cargo-handling solutions and services to ports and terminals Kalmar has concluded an agreement to supply a further three Kalmar T2 terminal tractors, including preventive and on-call maintenance service, to leading Dutch online retailer VidaXL.Kalmar, part of Cargotec, said that the order was booked in Cargotec's 2019 Q1 order intake, with delivery of the machines scheduled to take place during Q3 of 2019.VidaXL is a rapidly growing international online retailer serving three million customers every year and employs close to 1,500 people around the world.

Kalmar's 70,000th Ottawa Terminal Tractor

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, is celebrating a significant milestone with the production of its 70,000th Kalmar Ottawa terminal tractor. Destined for long-standing customer Penske Truck Leasing, the truck was completed on 27 February at Kalmar's US manufacturing facility in Ottawa, Kansas. Employees and guests gathered at the plant to celebrate and watch the final assembly of the truck.The Kalmar Ottawa T2 Terminal Tractor sets the standard for world-class trailer handling solutions for port, intermodal and distribution customers.

Cargotec Reorganizes Kalmar

Finnish cargo-handling machinery manufacturer Cargotec said it has reorganized the businesses under its Kalmar brand and has appointed Stefan Lampa as President of Kalmar Mobile Solutions, in a move aimed at enhancing Kalmar's growth opportunities.Kalmar, a provider of cargo handling solutions and services to ports, terminals, distribution centers and heavy industry, will be reorganized into three strategic business units: Kalmar Mobile Solutions, Kalmar Automation Solutions and Navis, effective April 1, 2019.

DP World Orders Kalmar Straddle Carriers

The cargo-handling solutions provider Kalmar is to supply DP World with a total of 63 Kalmar Hybrid Straddle Carriers for use at four of its European container terminals: 12 units will be delivered to GMP in Le Havre, France; 20 units to Eurofos in Marseille, France; 19 units to Antwerp Gateway in Belgium; and 12 units to DP World Southampton in the UK.The order was booked in Cargotec's 2019 Q1 order intake, and the majority of the machines is expected to be delivered by the end of 2019…

​MacGregor wins $24 mln in Orders

MacGregor, part of Cargotec, has secured orders to provide port, cruise access and equipment for RoRo/Passenger (RoPax) ferries from Europe and China. The total order value is approximately $24.7 mln. The orders were booked into Cargotec's first quarter 2019 order intake, with the delivery of the MacGregor equipment planned to start during the first quarter 2020 and completed during the second quarter 2024.

Kalmar Backs DP World Ecuador Terminal Project

Kalmar, a provider of lifting solutions and part of Cargotec, has announced a further extension of its collaboration with world-leading global terminal operator DP World.A new fleet of Kalmar mobile equipment - 33 terminal tractors, three empty container handlers, three reachstackers and one forklift - will ensure safe and efficient operations at DP World's new deep-water port at Posorja in Ecuador. The order was booked in Cargotec's 2018 Q4 order intake, with delivery scheduled to begin during Q2 of 2019.

Belfast Container Terminal Orders Kalmar's AutoRTG System

Kalmar won a tender to supply a complete AutoRTG system to Belfast Container Terminal (BCT) in Northern Ireland. The system will comprise eight automated rubber-tired gantry cranes (AutoRTGs) controlled by the Kalmar Terminal Logistic System (TLS) and new-generation remote control (RC) desks. The order was booked in Cargotec's Q4 2018 order intake, with delivery of the system scheduled to commence at the end of 2019.Belfast Container Terminal (BCT), the largest in Northern Ireland,  is owned by and located in Belfast Harbor and is operated under concession by Irish Continental Group.

Kalmar Provides Green RTG to Miami Port

Kalmar, the provider of eco-efficient cargo handling equipment and automated terminal solutions, , has signed a deal to supply six Kalmar Zero Emission Rubber-tired Gantry cranes (RTGs) to South Florida Container Terminal, LLC.The cranes will be equipped with a busbar energy system and operator assist features like auto steering and container stack profiling, said a press statement from Kalmar, part of Cargotec.The order was booked in Cargotec's 2019 Q1 order intake with delivery scheduled to be completed in early 2020.

Kalmar Unveils New Electric Tractor

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, said that its Electric Terminal Tractor  is due to be launched in 2020 will be equipped with a 107 kWh lithium-ion battery capable of DC fast charge. Kalmar Bags Uruguay Terminal Order

The provider of lifting solutions Kalmar has agreed a deal to supply seven terminal tractors and six forklift trucks to the Rio Estiba terminal in Nueva Palmira, Uruguay.The Cargotec group company said that the order was booked in Cargotec's 2018 Q4 order intake with delivery scheduled to take place in Q2 of 2019.Rio Estiba provides port logistics services, including loading and unloading of cargo, coordination of intra-port operations, in-terminal transport, and administration and cargo handling in port warehouses.

Norfolk Southern Invests in Automation

American transportation company Norfolk Southern has signed a deal with Kalmar, part of Cargotec, for supply of four Kalmar SmartPower rubber-tyred gantry cranes (RTGs) equipped with a suite of process automation solutions.According to a press release, the order was booked in Cargotec's 2018 Q4 order intake with delivery scheduled to be completed by the end of Q4 2019. Norfolk Southern Railway subsidiary operates approximately 19,500 route miles in 23 states, serves every major container ports in the eastern United States and provides efficient connections to other rail carriers.

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has signed a contract with SPT Services Sdn Bhd, for an order of 41 units of Kalmar TL2 Terminal Tractors. Kalmar to Deliver Straddle Carriers to Maher Terminals

The marine industry equipment manufacturer Kalmar is to deliver a further order of straddle carriers to Maher Terminals LLC for use at their marine container terminal located in the Port of New York and New Jersey.According to a press release from Kalmar, part of Cargotec,  the order of 26 straddle carriers was booked in Cargotec's 2018 second quarter order intake, and delivery is scheduled to take place during Q1 of 2019.Maher Terminals is one of the largest privately held, multi-user container terminal operators in the world.

Kalmar to Automatize Melbourne VICT Terminal

The provider of cargo handling solutions and services to ports, terminals, Kalmar has signed a maintenance and support agreement with International Container Terminal Services, Inc (ICTSI) covering the automated container handling solution operating at Victoria International Container Terminal (VICT).The order was booked in Cargotec's Q4 2018 order intake with the agreement coming into effect in November 2018, said a press release. Australia's first fully automated container terminal, VICT, welcomed its first vessel in March 2017.

MacGregor Cleared to Acquire TTS' Marine & Offshore Units

MacGregor, a part of Cargotec, has yesterday received a clearance decision from the German Federal Cartel Office (Bundeskartellamt) for the company's acquisition of the marine and offshore businesses of TTS Group ASA, which was announced on 8 February, 2018.  The completion of the intended transaction is still subject to regulatory approvals in China and South Korea. MacGregor expects to receive these approvals by the end of 2018 and to complete the transaction, according to the agreement, as soon as possible thereafter.

Kalmar Books Order for 30 Ottawa Terminal Tractors

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has secured an order to supply a total of 30 Kalmar Ottawa T2 Terminal Tractors to the Tecon Santos container terminal in Brazil, operated by Santos Brasil Participações S.A. The order was booked in Cargotec's third quarter 2018 order intake, with delivery of the machines scheduled to take place through the first quarter of 2019.Tecon Santos is located in the largest port in Latin America and is one of Brazil's leading logistic company and biggest container terminal.

Kalmar Forklifts Delivered to ENTP

The marine industry equipment manufacturer Kalmar has delivered a total of 18 forklift trucks to Algeria's leading drilling contractor Entreprise Nationale des Travaux aux Puits (ENTP).According to a press release from Kalmar, part of Cargotec, the company  will also support ENTP with parts supply and provide operator training to their staff. The machines, ordered in the first quarter of 2018, were delivered during the third quarter.Established in 1981, ENTP is the leading drilling contractor in Algeria with a market share of close to 45 percent.

Kalmar to Supply 6 Reachstackers to Sitrans

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has secured a contract to supply six Gloria reachstackers to Sitrans Servicios Integrados de Transportes Limitada (Sitrans), part of the Ultramar Group. The order was booked in Cargotec's Q4 2018 order intake and delivery of the machines is scheduled to take place during Q1 of 2019.Three of the machines will be delivered to the company's container terminal in Valparaiso and three to their terminal in San Antonio, both of which are located on the Pacific coast in central Chile.
