Dan-Bunkering Hires Four New Traders

Dan-Bunkering has announced the hiring of four new team members for the office in Dubai. Trader-wise the Middle Eastern office is the second largest office in the Group, only marginally overtaken by the head office in Middelfart, Denmark.The four new appointments consist of four different nationalities, i.e. Nakul Dubey, Capt. Ada Ezgi Baser, Norman Xie Changlong, and Rune Jensen.Nakul Dubey was born in India and did his Master’s in Business Administration in the UAE before joining Dan-Bunkering as a Base Oil & Bitumen Trader.Capt.

Dan-Bunkering Promotes Bunker Trader

Dan-Bunkering promoted  Bunker Trader Søren Emil Dam to Bunker Trader & Team Leader as of February 1, 2019.Søren Emil Dam is a Danish national and joined Dan-Bunkering’s Danish head office in Middelfart in 2013. One year after his employment, he relocated to become part of the company’s Middle Eastern office in Dubai.  Søren has during his engagement with Dan-Bunkering demonstrated excellent leadership skills, dedication and business acumen, making his advancement to Team Leader an obvious next step in his career.

A/S Dan-Bunkering Ltd. announced that Rikke Pagh as per December 18, has been promoted to Senior Bunker Trader.Rikke started her career in Bunker Trading with Dan-Bunkering in 2004 and has during her employment been stationed abroad for a longer period, before returning to Middelfart which is also the place she started more than 14 years ago.The department in Middelfart, which is Dan-Bunkering’s head office, currently employs 16 Bunker Traders.

Dan-Bunkering Promotes Cördük

Vopak Launches Concurrent Bunkering Services in Singapore

Vopak, the world's largest independent storage tank operator, has launched a new service that allows tankers docking at its Singapore Sebarok oil terminal to refuel while simultaneously loading or discharging cargoes. "The new concurrent bunkering service is in line with Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore's directive to improve port efficiency," Vopak said in a statement on Tuesday. The service eliminates the time needed to move tankers calling at the Sebarok terminal to designated anchorages in Singapore's congested waters for refuelling, also known as bunkering.

Brightoil Launches Online Bunker Trading Platform

International bunker trader and supplier Brightoil has launched a new suite of online tools that aims to transform the way bunker fuel is traded globally. Brightoil Bunker Online E-Delivery platform is now live and includes a Forward Fixed Price (FFP) facility making the process of buying bunkers anywhere in the world faster, easier and more transparent. The new facility enables customers to lock-in bunker cost for up to nine months forward thereby reducing exposure to major price swings. Online nomination of FFP contracts for physical delivery and optional cash settlement.

Thomsen Named Dan-Bunkering (America) Commercial Director

Michel Dominique Thomsen has been promoted to the position of commercial director with Dan-Bunkering (America) Inc. as of August 1, 2017.    Thomsen initially started as bunker trader with Dan-Bunkering at the office in Copenhagen in 2005. During his 12 year career, he has been stationed abroad, working as a sales manager for three years, before returning to Copenhagen to become a team leader in 2013.    Thomsen is succeeding Jim Jensen who was promoted to managing director of Dan-Bunkering (America) Inc. earlier this year.

New Sales Manager with Dan-Bunkering in Middelfart

A/S Dan-Bunkering Ltd. has announced that Mikkel Søholm Vestergaard took up the position as Sales Manager in the head office in Middelfart after having been relocated to Houston for a period of two years as the Managing Director of the offices in North America.   Mikkel was initially employed as Bunker Trader in the office in Middelfart back in 2002, and has until the timing of his return to Denmark a few months ago not only acquired thorough knowledge within bunker trading and shipping but also within management, HR, and staff development both in Denmark as well as abroad.

KPI Bridge Oil Hires Lim

KPI Bridge Oil, a global trader and broker in marine fuels and lubricants, physical supply and specialist in marine risk management products, has announced the appointment of bunker and lubricant trader Brenda Lim at its Singapore office. Lim has more than six years’ experience in the industry, working as a dry bulk broker, in operations at a well-known shipping company and as a Bunker Trader for the past three years. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from The Singapore Institute of Management in Accounting and Finance.

Dan-Bunkering Appoints Jensen as Managing Director

Dan-Bunkering (America) Inc. has announced the promotion of Jim Jensen to the position of managing director as of July 1, 2017.   Jensen initially started with Dan-Bunkering as a bunker trader at its Copenhagen office in 2008 and relocated to Houston in 2012 at the same time as the opening of the group’s first American set-up, where he advanced to commercial director. Prior to joining the Dan-Bunkering Group, Jensen was employed by a large oil company in Denmark.

Pillai Joins Dan-Bunkering

Dan-Bunkering (Middle East) DMCC has announced that Radhik Pillai started as Bunker Trader in the company’s office in Dubai on June 1, 2017.   Pillai was born in India but raised in UAE where he has also pursued his MBA from Manipal University. In addition,Pillai  has special knowledge of the container segment after having worked with this prior to joining Dan-Bunkering.

Dan-Bunkering (America) Inc. has announced the relocation as per March 1, 2017 of Oscar Obregon from Dan-Bunkering in Copenhagen where he was initially employed as Bunker Trader back in 2012. In connection with his relocation to Houston, TX,Obregon has moreover been promoted to Development Manager, Mexico & Central America. Oscar is originally of Mexican extraction making it an obvious choice to have Obregon focusing on maintaining and creating new business opportunities within this region.

Mass Flow Metering Now Mandatory in Singapore

In a move which has been hailed as a landmark moment for the bunker industry, the use of mass flow metering (MFM) for heavy fuel oil bunker deliveries in Singapore became mandatory on January 1, 2017. The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore’s (MPA) efforts have been applauded by many in the industry – including World Fuel Services – who see MFM as an important tool for developing more transparency and accountability for the bunker supply chain. Parker Joins Dan-Bunkering in Texas

Dan-Bunkering (America) Inc. has announced that Andrew Parker has been employed as Bunker Trader as of 15 September 2016.   Parker is in possession of a degree in Mechanical Engineering and is joining Dan-Bunkering after holding a position with an oil major.   Michelle Guerra started as Operations/Administration Assistant in August 2016. Guerra comes with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.

Dan-Bunkering's Stamford Office Moves

Dan-Bunkering (America) Inc. has announced that effective from September 216, 2016, the office in Stamford, CT, has moved into new premises.    The office in Stamford, CT, was established at the beginning of 2015 and is currently staffed by Sales Manager Mads Buchwald and Bunker Trader Kasper Rosenberg, however, the office is looking to add further employees to the team.

Dan-Bunkering Names Sales Manager, Group Offshore Manager

A/S Dan-Bunkering Ltd. has announced that Nicolai Troen was employed as Sales Manager as per August 1, 2016 in the office in Copenhagen. Troen commenced his career with Dan-Bunkering in the head office in Middelfart, Denmark, where he started as a trainee in 1998. In 2007, he was appointed Senior Bunker Trader and after that Team Leader, before starting as Sales Manager for the sales department in Middelfart in 2012 – a position he has been managing up until his recent employment in Copenhagen. KPI Bridge Oil, a leading global trader and broker in marine fuels, marine lubricants and risk management products, has announced  the promotion of Michalis Manassakis to Managing Director of KPI Bridge Oil Greece as of July 1, 2016. Manassakis joined KPI Bridge Oil’s London office in 2011 as Bunker Trader and received a promotion to Team Leader in 2014 in recognition of his significant contribution to the development of the team. When Manassakis relocated to Greece in May 2016, he was promoted to Deputy Managing Director and Sales Manager at KPI Bridge Oil’s new office in Glyfada, Athens.

A/S Dan-Bunkering Ltd. announced that Kasper Bækkegaard Christiansen started as Bunker Trader in the trading department in Middelfart, Denmark, as per May 1, 2016. Christiansen commenced his career as a Bunker Trader with Dan-Bunkering in the company’s head office in Middelfart, Denmark, back in 2010.
