New Formed Advanced Systems Group Appoints Dibkey

Brunswick Corporation today announced the formation of its Advanced Systems Group and appointed Brett Dibkey President – Advanced Systems Group. The new appointment is effective on January 1, 2020. The Advanced Systems Group consists of the 11 leading Power Products brands from the acquisition completed in August of 2018 in addition to the Attwood Group of businesses with its industry-leading brands, including Attwood, Garelick, MotorGuide, and Whale - all supported by a comprehensive, industry-leading systems design and integration capability.

Drees Named President of Mercury Marine

Brunswick Corporation has promoted Christopher Drees, president – marine parts and accessories, to president – Mercury Marine.Drees succeeds John Pfeifer, who has chosen to leave Brunswick to pursue opportunities outside the company. Drees will report to Brunswick Chief Executive Officer David M. Foulkes. The appointment is effective immediately.Drees joined Mercury Marine in 1998, and during his first eight years held a variety of positions within the company, including roles in purchasing, sales and marketing, and as general manager of the Mercury propeller business.

Brunswick Celebrates 10-year Safety Milestone

April 14 marked 10-years without a lost time incident for Brunswick Commercial & Government Products (BCGP). BCGP's employees have worked 1,817,000 hours without a lost time incident and maintained a recordable incident rate of zero in 2016. "This monumental milestone illustrates our dedication to safety and manufacturing excellence, said John Ratto, BCGP Director of Manufacturing and Plant Operations. BCGP was also recently presented the Sustained Safety Performance Award from its parent company - the Brunswick Corporation.

Mercury Marine Appoints Bass to Head EMEA Operations

Mercury Marine announced that Marty Bass has been appointed President - EMEA Mercury Marine, effective immediately. Bass, who previously was vice president of Mercury's product category management group based at Mercury headquarters in Fond du Lac, succeeds Mike Shedivy, who has lead EMEA – Mercury Marine since 2013. Mercury Marine Plant Earns Safety Honors

Mercury Marine's Suzhou, China plant recently received the Brunswick Corporation Chairman's Safety Award for excellence in safety and employee engagement. Mercury Marine Suzhou plant manager Eric Liu and safety officer Lawrence Liu received the award from Mercury Marine president John Pfeifer during the plant’s 10th anniversary celebration. Mercury Marine Receives Brunswick Safety Award

Mercury Marine's Juarez, Mexico, plant recently received the Brunswick Corporation Chairman's Safety Award for excellence in safety and employee engagement. The presentation held on Friday June 4 in Juarez, featured Brunswick Corporation CEO Dustin McCoy, Brunswick Corporation COO Mark Schwabero, Mercury Marine V.P. of Global Operations Chris Drees and other executives at the company. In conjunction with this award, Brunswick will donate $10,000 on behalf of Juarez employees to a charitable organization of their choice. Brunswick CEO Presents Safety Award to Boston Whaler

Boston Whaler’s Edgewater facility was awarded the Chairman’s Safety Award conducted by parent company Brunswick Corporation. During a ceremony held on June 4, Brunswick Chairman & CEO Dustin McCoy presented Whaler’s safety committee with the award, and Boston Whaler announced that it would donate the prize money received in conjunction with the award to local charity Cudas Unhooked. In his opening remarks, Boston Whaler President Huw Bower addressed the crowd of assembled employees, who were joined by Brunswick executives and members of the press.

Brunswick Promotes Foulkes to Chief Technology Officer

Brunswick Corporation today announced that effective immediately, David M. Foulkes, has been promoted to the new position of chief technology officer, reporting in this additional capacity to Brunswick President and Chief Operating Officer Mark D. Schwabero. Foulkes also will retain his current responsibilities as vice president - product development, engineering and racing for Mercury Marine, Brunswick's largest operating segment. In that capacity, Foulkes will continue to report to John C. Pfeifer, President - Mercury Marine.

Willard Marine Appoints Bryson Director of Engineering

With over 20 years of maritime experience, Bryson was previously with Derecktor Shipyards, Christensen Shipyards, and Heisley Marine Corp. Bryson also served as Director of Engineering at Brunswick Corporation, overseeing approximately 50 engineers and launching eight new products annually over a five-year period. Bryson also spent time with Clipper Windpower where he served as Program Manager. “I can’t express enough how excited I am to work with Willard Marine,” says Bryson. “While at Brunswick, it was very hard to find ways to compete with Willard. Brunswick Deliver Law Enforcement Boston Whaler

Brunswick Commercial & Government Products (BCGP) deliver a Boston Whaler 27' Vigilant patrol boat to the Ottawa County (MI) Sheriff's office. The Sheriff's office is tasked with law patrol, law enforcement, and fire suppression activities for the local river, which includes three harbors and a power plant, and to fulfill these tasks, the Sheriff's Office chose a commercially built Boston Whaler walkaround cabin model. The boat is powered by twin Yamaha engines, and includes the newest fire pump offering from BCGP, a 130 hp Mercruiser that mounts inside the cabin, leaving the deck clear.

Brunswick Reports Q1 Results

--  Total net sales of $844.4 million, up 15 percent versus 2009. --  A net loss of $13.0 million, or $0.15 per diluted share, which includes $0.08 per diluted share of restructuring and impairment charges and $0.02 per diluted share of benefits from special tax items. --  Operating earnings of $10.1 million, a $137.6 million improvement from prior year. --  Cash totaled $552.4 million, up from 2009 year-end balance of $526.6 million. --  Low beginning-of-year marine dealer inventories led to increased production and wholesale shipments.

McClendon Family Celebrates 50 Years

Zach McClendon, Jr. of Monticello, Ark. will celebrate being in the boat building business for 50 consecutive years this September. McClendon, along with his father, Zach McClendon, Sr. and another local businessman, Norris Judkins started MonArk Boat Company in May of 1958 building small aluminum jon boats using a shear and break press provided by Judkins.
