Sir Michael Bibby New President of UK Chamber of Shipping

Sir Michael Bibby was elected President of the UK Chamber of Shipping at the organisation’s Annual General Meeting in London. He becomes the Chamber’s 132nd president in its 140th year. John Denholm, chairman of J&J Denholm, was elected Vice-President at the meeting, which was attended by over 100 people from the Chamber’s member companies. Sir Michael is planning to step back from his position as Managing Director of Bibby Line Group during 2018 to allow him to better focus his time on external work interests, including his involvement with the UK Chamber.

Mersey Maritime CEO Retires

Press release- Jim Teasdale, CEO of Mersey Maritime, has announced his retirement after 11 year at the helm of the industry representative body. His last day in the role will be Wednesday, September 30, 2015. Teasdale was a founder director of the Birkenhead based not-for-profit organization, set up in 2003 to represent the interests of the Ports and Maritime Sector on Merseyside, by helping to create the right conditions for business growth. He leaves Mersey Maritime in a healthy position, acting as a linchpin between the private and public sector.

Bibby Ship Management Employees to Trek for Charity

Bibby Ship Management (WE) Ltd., part of Bibby Line Group, informs its employees Sandra Corrigan and Nicky Davenport will embark on a trekking and camping challenge in the Grand Canyon as part of a challenge to fundraise for charity. Corrigan, raising funds Hospice Isle of Man, and Davenport, raising funds for the Isle of Man Sea Cadets, will walk 10-15 miles each day in 80 degrees heat, camping in a Native American camp site by night. The inaugural Maritime Logistics & Energy thematic within the International Festival for Business 2014 has come to a close. Highlighting Liverpool’s international role as a mercantile, maritime and global trade gateway city, the MLE fortnight’s 48 events wrapped up on June 20. Shipping Professional Network in London (SPNL) held their last event of the year on Tuesday, December 3, 2013. Bibby Ship Management 'Girl Power'

Intrepid trekkers – Jess Kramer, Sarah Ryan, Nicky Davenport and Sandra Corrigan have just arrived home from a trip of a lifetime. All four Bibby Ship Management (BSM) Isle of Man employees took part in the Bibby Line Group ‘Giving Something Back’ Dalai Lama Trek in India, in October. The five day trek saw the team reach an altitude of 3,500 meters, camping in some extreme weather, however with such a fantastic support crew keeping the team firmly on the ground the trip was a great success.

Bibby Ship Management Group Ltd announced the appointment of Mark Robertshaw as its new Commercial Director, joining the business on September 23, 2013. His responsibilities will also include the role of new Managing Director for Bibby Ship Management’s Western Europe office, based in the Isle of Man. Mr. Robertshaw, a shipping and marine professional, is joining the business from Faststream Recruitment, where he set up its new Asian operation and took responsibility for sales performance for the region.

Bibby Offshore’s newest division, Bibby Remote Intervention Limited (BRIL) Recently increased its workforce following the creation of two new positions. David Howe joins the firm as project director and Robin Longstaff as survey manager.
