Salalah Ports Sets Productivity Record

With an annual capacity of around 5 million TEU, the Port of Salalah set a new productivity record this month, delivering 412.97 Port Moves per Hour (PMPH) on vessel Cap San Tainaro. The Port handled 3,820 moves in a port stay of 9.25 hours.Oman’s major regional gateway port and transshipment hub, located on the Arabian Sea has recorded the highest productivity ever achieved in the region. APM Terminals Mumbai Goes Online

At APM Terminals Mumbai it is now possible to submit Additional Service Requests (ASR) via its online Customer Service Portal. Replacing a manual process, this new automated process is quicker, simpler and more transparent for customers.Around 20 import and 20 export services can now be requested online, ranging from priority delivery, seal fixing, and inter-terminals transfers to early or late gate-ins, empty container storage and break-bulk handling.Requests for additional services are activated immediately, removing the need to allow for 24 hours processing.

APM Terminals Pipavav Boosts Efficiency

The implementation of a range of simple measures to streamline shift changes at APM Terminals Pipavav has reduced vessel idle times, added capacity and reduced impact on crane moves per hour due to shift change by around 16%.At the same time, it has also improved trailer driver and crane operator safety, said a press release from APM Terminals, an international container terminal operating company headquartered in The Hague.The Pipavav team has introduced clearly marked parking bays for terminal trailers, which provide a safe distance between each trailer.

The Suez Canal Container Terminal (SCCT), strategically located at the mouth of the Suez Canal in Egypt, has announced its intention to open its reefer container inspection and repair hub to all brands. Port of Boston Sets New Record

The Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) announced another record year for the Port of Boston’s Paul W. Conley Container Terminal.From July 2018 through June 2019, Conley handled 307,331 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) – an 8% increase in cargo volumes over FY2018 and a new all-time record for the fifth consecutive year. APM Terminals Acclaims Maasvlakte II

The APM Terminals Maasvlakte II’s new rail service between the Rotterdam terminal and Venlo, a key logistics hub on the Dutch-German border has been a huge success so far, claimed the port operator.APM Terminals said that following the success of the initial five-times-per-week service, plans are already in place to scale this up to 14 times per week over the coming weeks. APM Terminals Algeciras hits a new Port Moves Per Hour (PMPH) record for a vessel berthed at Juan Carlos I berth.
