Hapag-Lloyd, HHLA Form Ties

German international shipping and container transportation company Hapag-Lloyd AG and compatriot logistics and transportation company Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA), will be continuing their close cooperation in Hamburg for another five years.On the basis of this decision, both companies will now be able to make necessary investments and boost their overall competitiveness, said a joint press release.Both parties have also agreed to intensify their collaboration on sustainability-related issues.

HHLA Reports 8.3% Growth in Revenue

Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG, HHLA, the company that operates three out of four of Hamburg’s container terminals, continued its positive performance in the first nine months of 2019.The total revenue was 1.04 billion euros, an increase of 8.3 percent, said the German logistics and transportation company.The operating result (EBIT) improved strongly by € 19.3 million, or 12.4 percent, to € 175.4 million. The positive effects of the initial application of IFRS 16 in the EBIT amounted to approximately € 10.6 million.

HHLA's Earnings Up in Q1 2019

German terminal operator Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA) revenue increases by 10.3 % in the first quarter of 2019, despite a challenging market environment, said the company.Container throughput increased slightly, partly due to the successful integration of the Estonian terminal operator HHLA TK Estonia last year. Extremely positive performance in container transport and property management led to a revenue of € 347.6 million (+ 10.3 %).The operating result (EBIT) was far above the level of last year, increasing by € 11.8 million or 24.5 % to € 59.7 million.

Germany’s Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA) has completed the acquisition of Estonia’s largest terminal operator, Transiidikeskuse AS (TK).
