Adani Ports Q4 profit up 41%

Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ), India’s largest private multi-port operator, reported a 41.45 percent surge in its consolidated net profit to INR 1,314.19 crore (USD 188.4million) for the quarter ended on March 31, 2019.However, its revenue fell 3.15 percent to INR 31 billion, said a stock exchange annoucement. Its coal volumes rose 30 percent year-on-year during the quarter, while the cargo volume increased 19 percent.The company also reported a record cargo throughput of 54 million metric tonnes in the three months ended March, according to the filing.

Adani Ports Acquires Kattupalli Port

India's largest port developer Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) has agreed to pick up 97% stake in Marine Infrastructure Developer (MIDPL) from Larsen & Toubro at an enterprise value of Rs 1,950 crore ($284 million). According to a press release from the company, Kattupalli Port is one of the most modern ports in India emerging as Chennai’s New Gateway for EXIM trade in Chennai/Bangalore region and provides a whole new dimension of services with speed and sophistication.

Maersk Line Scale Up Innovative Smart Reefers in India

India to Establish Center of Excellence in Maritime and Ship Building in 2 Cities

A world class Center of Excellence in Maritime and Ship Building (CEMS) is being set up by Ministry of Shipping in collaboration with  Siemens and Indian Register of Shipping (IRS) under the Ministry’s flagship Sagarmala Program. CEMS will have  campuses at Vishakhapatnam and Mumbai, and will provide industry-relevant skill development, equip students with employable engineering and technical skills in the port and maritime sector and contribute to the Government of India’s ambitious Sagarmala programme.

HMM’s Direct Weekly ACS Service Flagged Off From Krishnapatnam Port

Gateway Distriparks CFS at Krishnapatnam Port starts Ops

Gateway Distriparks Ltd. (GDL) today informed that the construction of the first phase its Logistics Park & Container Freight Station (CFS) next to the Krishnapatnam Port Container Terminal has been completed and after receiving all necessary statutory approvals from the Customs Department, the facility is ready to commence operations. GDL has invested Rs. 90 crore in the first phase to develop capacity as follows - 60,000 TEUs in bonded container yard and 50,000 sq. ft. of bonded warehousing, as well as 100,000 TEUs in domestic container yard and 100,000 sq. ft. of domestic warehousing.

Sagarmala Programme, an ambitious port-led infrastructure development programme of the government to harness India’s 7,500-km, is now moving from the conceptualization and planning to the implementation stage. Andhra Signs MoU with Russian Maritime Varsity

The Indian state of Andhra Pradesh (AP) Andhra Pradesh will soon have a world class maritime university. AP has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Russia's State Marine Technical University to promote marine education and technology. The agreement was signed at the port city of St. Petersburg on the first day of AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu's visit to Russia on Wednesday. Maersk to Link Salalah to Krishnapatnam Port

Maersk Line India a unit of Danish conglomerate A P Moller Maersk Group, has launched a new service from Salalah, Oman to the Krishnapatnam Port in Andhra Pradesh. The weekly service to be started from April 17 will connect customers in the areas of AP, Northern Tamil Nadu and Eastern Karnataka directly to Oman and nearby region. Krishnapatnam Port is a privately built and owned all weather, deep water port on the east coast of India, located in the Nellore District of Andhra Pradesh.

Petrogas to Establish LNG terminal in Andhra

Petrogas Private Limited, a joint venture company between Isomeric Holdings Bhd from Malaysia and LEPL Ventures Pvt Ltd (LEPL) from Vijayawada, has signed a facilitation MoU with Krishnapatnam Port Company Ltd (KPCL) and Andhra Pradesh government for setting up a regasification and floating storage Terminal at Krishnapatnam Port. Petrogas will commit a direct funding of over $500 million at Krishnapatnam, SPS Nellore District, Andhra Pradesh within the fields of LNG Regassification Terminal and allied industries.

Reliance Defence Plans Shipbuilding Facility in Andhra

India's Reliance group announced a tie up with Andhra Pradesh government for building a strategic shipyard on the eastern seaboard of the country, which will be co-located with strategic facilities of the Indian Navy and Department of Atomic Energy. The facility is said to be co-located with the Indian Navy’s base and BARC’s nuclear facility at Rambilli, approximately 70 Km south of Visakhapatnam. The new facility would complement the company’s existing facility at Pipavav in Gujarat, with a clear focus on building strategic assets for the Indian Navy.

APSEZ to Develop Vizhinjam Port

Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ), India’s largest port developer and part of Adani Group, a global integrated player, has received “Letter of Award” for development of the Vizhinjam International Deepwater Seaport Project from Government of Kerala (GoK). We had keenly participated in this tender to ensure that Kerala gets its first deep water multi cargo port and India gets its first deep water transshipment port which has been missing till date. Black & Veatch Gets IOC Contract

Indian Oil Corp. Ltd (IOCL) has awarded KSS Petron India, a Black & Veatch led consortium, a contract for a liquefied natural gas (LNG) receiving terminal at Ennore in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Black & Veatch will lead the engineering, procurement, construction (EPC) and commissioning work on a turnkey basis. The LNG plant is scheduled to be completed by 2018. The work entails designing and building a facility to regasify five million tonnes per annum of tanker borne LNG received at the terminal.

Adani Mulls Take Over of Katupalli Port

India's Adani Group is likely to take over the operational and management control of Larsen & Toubro (L&T) Kattupalli International Container Terminal near Chennai, reports Business Standard. Adani is in the final stage of getting into an arrangement with L&T to take over the terminal, which the Mumbai-based construction and engineering major built at a cost of Rs 4,000 crore ($645 million). It is learnt that the AP Moller–Maersk Group, a Danish business conglomerate, is also in the race to acquire the container terminal operations of the Katupalli port.
