Canada Funds Refinance German OWF

The Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPP Investments) has refinanced its minority interest in the 609MW Hohe See and Albatros offshore wind farm complex in the German North Sea.Amsterdam Capital Partners (Amscap) advised CPP Investments on the EUR 510.6 million green bond refinancing, said a statement.The refinancing follows CPP Investments’ acquisition of 49% of Enbridge Inc’s (Enbridge) original 49.89% ownership in the two projects, which Enbridge in turn acquired from EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG (EnBW) in 2017.In total…

China-Built Cruiser Delivered to Sunstone

China Merchants Heavy Industry has delivered an expedition cruise vessel to SunStone Ships, the first of its next-genn INFINITY-class vessel and perhaps more significantly China's firm entrance into the cruise ship building sector.The arrangement to bring this ship from drawing board to delivery slip is the culmination of marrying European cruise design and quality with Chinese ship-building efficiency. SunStone Orders 7th Newbuild

Portland Port Preps for Record Cruise Season

Portland Port says its 2018 cruise season is going to be another record breaker, with the greatest number of cruise calls and passengers to date. Overall the U.K. port is expecting to handle 32 cruise ships bringing nearly 39,000 passengers into Portland. Over the last 10 years the numbers have grown substantially from just four calls and 2,000 passengers in 2009 to the record breaking figures for 2018 – a trend that Portland Port says it is keen to continue. The port’s cruise season starts on April 3 with the visit of German cruise line Phoenix Reisen’s Albatros.

GeoSea Bags Offshore Wind Installation Work from EnBW

DEME Group’s offshore marine engineering subsidiary GeoSea said that, following successful completion of the design, it also received the Notice to Proceed for fabrication and offshore installation of 16 wind turbine foundations and 1 Offshore Transformer Module (OTM) for the EnBW Albatros offshore wind farm, for which GeoSea is Siemens’ EPCI partner. This partnership enables Siemens to provide a full-scope project (offshore wind turbines and OTM, incl. foundations) to EnBW. Kieler Woche Draws Cruise Ships

The Kieler Woche sailing regatta – the biggest  maritime folk festival and sail sport event in northern Europe – is a big draw for cruise ships as well as many other vessels. Royal IHC successfully launches TSHD MAHURY

On 14 August, Royal IHC successfully launched the MAHURY, a 1,840m3 capacity twin-screw trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD), at partner shipyard MTG Dolphin Shipyard in Varna, Bulgaria. The vessel is being built for Baggerbedrijf de Boer - Dutch Dredging, whose Managing Director C.J. van de Graaf Jr, attended the launch. AMAZONE. Superyacht destination Marina Port Vell (MPV), Barcelona, Spain, was the sponsor of the recent Pinmar Golf Tournament, played from October 9-11, 2013, in Mallorca.
