Khalifa Port to Handle World's Largest Ships

Emirates Global Aluminium, the largest industrial company outside oil and gas, has signed a long-term port facility agreement with Abu Dhabi Ports to use some of the world’s largest bulk cargo vessels to import raw materials through Khalifa Port. With this agreement, Abu Dhabi Ports will be able to develop the port to become the first in the Gulf capable of directly handling these massive ships. Abu Dhabi Ports will fund and complete dredging and widening works to the Khalifa Port approach channel and basin including EGA’s berth.

Abu Dhabi Ports: No Immediate Plans for a Listing

Abu Dhabi Ports has no plans to launch a public sale of shares in the short term, the chief executive of the state-owned company told Reuters on Tuesday. "There are no immediate plans to go public," Mohamed Juma al Shamisi said when asked if the company planned to sell shares and a subsequent listing. His comments came after Bloomberg News reported that Abu Dhabi Ports is considering an initial public offering, joining a growing list of state entities in the United Arab Emirates seeking to sell shares, citing people familiar with the matter.

National Defense College Visits Abu Dhabi Ports

MAQTA Gateway Achieves Complete Digitalization

Abu Dhabi Ports Continues Double-Digit Growth

Abu Dhabi Ports, the master developer, operator and manager of the ports and Khalifa Industrial Zone in the Emirate, has seen a successful first half of 2016. The company has experienced continuous growth as the UAE’s maritime trade hub with major growth across general and bulk cargo, container volumes and RoRo traffic. As Abu Dhabi's new Zayed Port cruise terminal opens by the end of this year, the number of cruise ships docking in Abu Dhabi is set to increase by a fifth this season, reports the National.
