Mein Schiff 3 Made Maiden Call at Sri Lankan Port

The super luxury passenger vessel MV Mein Schif 3 of TUI Cruises with 2,430 passengers and 995 crew on board made her maiden call at the Port of Colombo on 26th November 2018. For the first time in the history of the cruise company AIDA Cruises, a whole family will christen the newest ship AIDAnova. The Mirza family from Hanau in Hesse was selected from hundreds of applicants by a jury.On August 31, 2018 Sonja and Asad Mirza with their children Sophia and Adrian will christen the newest ship of the AIDA fleet. AIDAnova: Exclusive Cruises Before Maiden Voyage

Travelers now have the chance to experience AIDAnova before the maiden voyage. AIDA Cruises will take ownership of the first new-build of a new generation of ships from the Meyer shipyard on November 15, 2018. Guests will be able to experience the new flagship on a series of pre-premiere cruises before AIDAnova’s maiden voyage when she will leave Hamburg on December 2, 2018, heading for the Canary Islands. P&O Cruises Orders Second Ship at Meyer Werft

Carnival Corporation announced it has signed a shipbuilding contract for a second cruise ship for its P&O Cruises brand with German shipbuilder Meyer Werft GmbH that is scheduled to be delivered in 2022. Similar to a fellow P&O Cruises sister ship due for delivery in 2020, this second new vessel will be the largest cruise ship to be built specifically for the British market. It will be 180,000 gross tons and will accommodate approximately 5,200 guests (lower berths). Both new ships will be registered in the U.K.

Four Carnival Brands to Debut New Ships in 2018

Carnival Corporation & plc will roll out four new ships in 2018 across four of its 10 global brands, as the company will add 18 new cruise liners to its fleet between 2018 and 2022. Two AIDA Ships to Participate in German Maritime Festival

For the fourth time in a row, AIDA Cruises has agreed to sponsor a ship for one of these major public attractions of one of Germany’s biggest maritime festivals. Majorcan Delegation Visits AIDAperla

On July 8, 2017, AIDAperla, the youngest member of the AIDA Cruises fleet, returned to the port of Palma de Mallorca after its christening and maiden voyage. In addition to Barcelona, Germany’s favorite island is one of the departure and destination ports for the seven-day cruises around the western Mediterranean with AIDAperla in its premiere season. Kieler Woche Draws Cruise Ships

The Kieler Woche sailing regatta – the biggest  maritime folk festival and sail sport event in northern Europe – is a big draw for cruise ships as well as many other vessels. Barcelona Welcomes AIDAperla

AIDAperla - the youngest member of the AIDA Cruises fleet - reached the port of Barcelona via the western Mediterranean on June 7, 2017, as part of its "Welcome Cruises". During AIDAperla’s maiden season, Barcelona is, alongside Palma de Mallorca, one of the start and end ports for her seven-day cruises in the western Mediterranean. The Rostock cruise company’s latest ship will be christened on June 30, 2017 in Palma de Mallorca by model and presenter, Lena Gercke.
