ADNOC to Run Ruwais Container Terminal
ADNOC Logistics and Services, the shipping and services arm of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), has signed a contract with Borouge, a leading provider of value creating plastics solutions, to handle its Ruwais container terminal operations. Abu Dhabi Puts Fujairah LNG Terminal On Hold
Citing sources familiar with the matter, Bloomberg reports that Abu Dhabi is delaying the construction of the UAE’s first land-based LNG import terminal after contracting a floating liquefied natural gas unit. The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company has secured the services of an FSRU due to commence operations later in the year. The vessel will reportedly be based at Ruwais, to the west of Abu Dhabi, where there is an oil refinery and crude-loading port. The EmiratesLNG partnership was unavailable for immediate comment. The Fujairah LNG plant was scheduled for completion in 2018.
Boskalis Wins Abu Dhabi Dredging Contract
Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. has won a contract from the National Petroleum Construction Company of Abu Dhabi, UAE for dredging work related to the installation of an offshore gas pipeline of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company as well as to an existing offshore gas pipeline. Boskalis will dredge a more than 50-kilometre-long trench between Das Island and Ras Al Qila in onshore Abu Dhabi for the new pipeline installation. Dredging work is scheduled to commence in phases from this quarter onwards and is expected to be completed in the second half of 2017.

Abu Dhabi to Invest $25 Billion Offshore to 2020
Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) plans to invest around US$25bn over the next five years in a bid to boost oil production from offshore fields. The investment is part of the UAE's strategy to increase its crude oil output potential from its current production of 2.8 million barrels per day (bpd) to 3.5 million bpd by 2017-18, Reuters reported. China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) has secured the rights to produce and export oil from Abu Dhabi, helping China secure more fuel for its rapid economic growth. State-run CNPC has expanded over the past decade to over 30 countries around the globe to help secure supplies of the oil and gas that China needs to sustain its economic growth. Under the latest deal granted by the president of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), China's biggest energy company will help develop several onshore and offshore fields in Abu Dhabi and take a share of any oil produced, UAE state news agency WAM said.
