Posted by October 7, 2016

Port Everglades in Broward County, Fla. said it is conducting damage assessment, channel surveys and inspection of aids of navigation in the wake of Hurricane Matthew.

The port, which was closed to all ship and truck traffic yesterday as the storm approached the U.S. East Coast, is reopened on the landside for petroleum and cargo operations  only.

Waterside, channel surveys are complete and vessels will be allowed to enter the port once approval is received by the U.S. Coast Guard Captain of the Port.

No cruise ships are scheduled until Saturday, October 8.
