General engineering I'm new to this forum. I work as a 3rd Assistant Engineer. I would like to see a separate forum for general repair and maintenance of ship's systems. Engines, generators, boilers, pumps, hydraulics, etc.
Not from a design perspective but rather a place where engineers can go to share ideas, get help with problems and so on.

Thanks!

RE:General engineering That's a good idea- we're still working on setting on the forums, so we can have it in place early next week. I'll send you a message to let you know when it's up.

RE:General engineering I can provide information regarding electronic propulsion control systems.
Former manager with Mathers Controls, ZF Marine Electronics and Kobelt, and now own www.robertsmaritimesystems.com

Would be nice to see a Control Systems forum.

If anyone has questions regarding application or maintenance of electronic propulsion controls fire away.
PS: I subscribed to this thread so will see questions promptly.
