Forward Looking Sonar I work on an Navigational Aids Tender 83 Meters LOA, 16.2 Meters Breadth Design Draft 5.75 Meters, Load Draft extreme in Sea Water 6.22 Meters.
My C/O has experience with Forward Looking Sonar on smaller vessels and is pretty enthusiastic about their obvious advantages especially to a ship such as this which spends a lot of time in 'close quarters' and in fact positions a lot of the hazard warning bouys.
Looked on the internet and most of the 'established' companies for this technology seem to be quite limited in eg distance from transducer to bridge and other parameters.
Don't want bells and whistles but need 'robust' and capable
Anyone have any personal experience of particular manufacturers of this technology for medium to large steel vessels? Particularly interested in "North American" manufacture for support reasons.
Thanks
Mia
