Celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Fleet Ballistic Submarine at Keyport's Naval Undersea Museum.

COMSUBGRU NINE and friends will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of the commissioning of USS GEORGE WASHINGTON (SSBN 598), the first Fleet Ballistic Missile Submarine and the first of the "41 for Freedom" boats.

To help us celebrate this event, Naval Undersea Museum, Keyport staff is putting together a special exhibit to commemorate the history of the FBM program.  The official opening of the exhibit will take place at 1500 on 8 January in the museum lobby.  RDML Caldwell, Submarine Group 9 will be the speaker.
