The 2010 Cleveland Boat Show will be given a new name.

CLEVELAND – The 2010 Cleveland Boat Show will be given a new name and new focus in an effort to reshape the 53-year-old event to fit today’s boating market, according to a release from organizers. The Mid-America Boat & Fishing Show will be held Jan. 15-24 at the I-X Center and will feature pre-owned product alongside new fishing boats, powerboats, sailboats and personal watercraft.

After holding the same type of show for so many years, it was time to take a step back and look at the big picture,” Show Manager Ken Alvey said in the release. “Most boaters enter the sport through the used market and half of all boaters on Lake Erie use their boats for fishing. Those are two large markets and it was a no-brainer to change the event’s makeup from primarily a powerboat show to include them.” Children 12 years old and younger will receive free admission and all BoatU.S. members will be able to purchase discount tickets at clevelandboatshow.com. Exhibitor details will be available at clevelandboatshow.com in early November.
