Investing in Subsea Technology Development
Since 1973 Petrobras has been investing in Subsea technology through the Cenpes center of research. In 2003 the LabOceano research center at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) was inaugurated and now in 2009, a partnership between Petrobras and UFRJ launched a new automation and control research center.

BG Group and Petrobras to use FEED technology to develop the world´s first FLNG unit for use in Brazilian deepwater pre-salt field. Aspen Aerogels has been to supplying its advanced Spaceloft™ aerogel insulation for a 21-kilometer, undersea natural gas pipeline being built by Technip for Petrobras in Brazil.
